The Legendary Pink Dots
The Legendary Pink Dots are an Anglo-Dutch experimental rock group formed in London in 1980 by singer and songwriter Edward Ka-Spel and keyboardist Phil Knight (The Silver Man). The band moved to the Netherlands in 1984. Its music starts from psychedelic rock and adds tape work, electronics and industrial textures, held together by Ka-Spel's strange narrative lyrics and a very large output of albums and cassettes. The group first issued cassettes on its own Mirrordot label, then released Brighter Now (1982), Curse (1983) and The Tower (1984).
The French Collection
To be issued mid Oct. 2010 as a double CD set housed in a custom made gatefold case with artwork by Jesse Peper. It started with a dusty box of DAT tapes. Limited friends edition of 50 copies in black box with silver embossement. Tape recordings from 1980-82 including Kleine Krieg (originally packaged with a model kit of a tank or an airplane, intended to be assembled while listening to the music), Chemical Playschool Vols. 1 and 2 (the original cassette edition of which had 24 copies), outtakes, and Live in Cologne 1983.

2xCD housed in a full color custom made book bound sleeve and printed inner sleeve. Chemical Playschool Volumes 8 and 9 documents the largely unseen universe of The Legendary Pink Dots between the years 1990 and 1995. History has been amended where necessary. The cast for this voyage: The Silverman, Niels Van Hoornblower, Edward Ka-Spel, Martijn de Kleer, Father Pastorius, Cevin Key, Elke Skelter, Raymond Steeg, Ryan Moore, Maria, a brass band and Calyxx.
