The Tapes

The Tapes was the project of the Italian brothers Giancarlo and Roberto Drago, active from 1982 into the early 1990s. Working with cheap synthesizers, drum machines and samples, they recorded a raw, minimal form of early industrial electronics and circulated it on small-run cassettes. Most of this material reached a wider audience only through archival reissues from 2016 onward. Giancarlo Drago started the project and was its constant member, and his brother Roberto joined him later.
