Thomas Meadowcroft

Thomas Meadowcroft is an Australian composer, raised in Toowoomba, Queensland, and based in Berlin since 1998. He studied with George Crumb at the University of Pennsylvania and with Brian Ferneyhough at the University of California, San Diego. His music takes the Australian experience of distance as a subject and uses domestic instruments such as electric organs, drum machines and plastic recorders. His orchestral works have been played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Symphony Orchestra. Mode released Percussion Works in 2020, with Speak Percussion playing pieces from 2000-2011.
