Tonus

Tonus is an ensemble project led by the Belgian guitarist Dirk Serries, built around Serries and the pianist Martina Verhoeven with a line-up that changes from one recording to the next. It started in 2017 during a residency at Jazzcase in Belgium. The music is slow, minimalist free improvisation in which the space between notes counts as much as the sounds, sometimes guided by graphic scores.
