Vincent Royer

Vincent Royer (born 1961) is a French violist and composer from Strasbourg. He studied piano with Hélène Boschi, switched to viola at thirteen, and trained in Freiburg, Cologne and Paris with Ulrich Koch, Rainer Moog and Serge Collot. He co-founded the ALEA ensemble in 1989, won the Prix Xenakis de Paris in 1991, and has played in the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne since 1990. He teaches chamber music at the Royal Conservatory of Liège. On Mode he plays viola and electronics in Luc Ferrari's Éphémère (1974).
