Drawn from material composed between 2005 and 2007 and revised through 2010, the first standard CD under the Orphax name. Sietse van Erve's writing rests on minute compositional detail: slow-shifting drone fields that drift between long-tone minimalism, isolationist soundscape and lo-fi experimental ambient. A deepening of Orphax's investigation into psychedelic, mind-altering atmosphere through reduced means, where harmonic stillness and slow textural accretion carry the structural weight.
On In Concerts, Mujician - Keith Tippett, Paul Dunmall, Paul Rogers and Tony Levin - are caught across 17 years of pure, pre‑verbal improvisation, four voices moving as one organism, forever searching and sometimes touching the truly uncanny.
On Music for Intersecting Planes, Kali Malone and Leila Bordreuil braid organ, cello, sine waves and feedback into a candlelit nocturne of air and overtones, an austere yet tender ritual where space itself becomes a third instrument.
The Belgian electroacoustic pioneer unveils a career-spanning collection that chronicles her unwavering commitment to the "hidden and discreet, but poetic, paths of acousmatics" across analog and digital eras
Centipede’s Septober Energy (1971), released on RCA and produced by jazz pianist Keith Tippett, is a sprawling double-album manifesto of British avant-garde jazz-rock that brings together an enormous ensemble of more than fifty musicians, including members of King Crimson, Soft Machine, and other key figures of the Canterbury and progressive scenes. Conceived as a large-scale orchestral jazz composition, the record blends free improvisation, electric jazz fusion, progressive rock dynamics, and c…
Modern art is a mass phenomenon. Conceptual artists like Damien Hirst enjoy celebrity status. Works by 20th century abstract artists like Mark Rothko are selling for record breaking sums, while the millions commanded by works by Andy Warhol and Francis Bacon make headline news. However, while the general public has no trouble embracing avant garde and experimental art, there is, by contrast, mass resistance to avant garde and experimental music, although both were born at the same time under sim…
*100 copies limited edition* "When AJ Lee stepped back into the ring in September 2025 - after a ten-year break - she introduced herself to a new generation of fans with the words: 'If you haven't heard of me, I am your favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler.' That is exactly what came to my mind as a lead for this blurb when Pokusa asked me to write it. Because that’s what they are: your favorite indie darlings' favorite indie darlings (even though no one uses that term anymore, let alone identi…
Asked to create a solo album, Adia started looking for a creative way to re-invent her solo saxophone music. Her new improvisations are inventive pieces which take advantage of the full range of her instrument and different playing techniques, but also the sounds of her surroundings in the unusual locations where she recorded – the echo of a silo, the clucking of a chicken coop, or passing cars. These sounds inspired the music, creating a dialogue with the environment.
Reflectativity, first released on Leo Smith's own label in the early 1970s is one of the most important extended compositions blending improvisation and composition, and one of Leo Smith's masterpieces. This exciting new version features the brilliant pianist/composer Anthony Davis (who performed on the original recording) and longtime friend and colleague Malachi Favors—the legendary monster bass player from the Art Ensemble of Chicago. Coupled with several new compositions, this CD brings toge…
Conversation No. 1/ Collecting Rocks from the Places We’ve Been is a solo for bass clarinet which can be performed as a duo, trio, or maybe someday with many, many bass clarinets, or in collaboration with other artists. Katie Porter is interested in creating systems of music that she can exist in together, for herself and others, music that collapses and expands on itself, where we are free to choose the phrases, iterations, and lean into the occurrences of overlapping tones, vibrations, multi-…
Luminous Axis (subtitled The Caravans of Winter and Summer) is an album by American jazz trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith recorded in 2002 and released on Tzadik Records' Composer Series. *100 copies limited edition* This album came together across different moments and shifting moods, moving in opposite directions and never fully settling much like the sudden, restless bursts of a bora wind. Each track belongs to a different time and a different inner weather, carrying its own distance and temperature. Within these shifting winds were the quiet weights of regret, the faint traces of shame, and the strange urge to believe without question in certain things, even when nothing felt…
*100 copies limited edition* "Meldrop tells of the place I call home, my dogs, the forest and the lives within. It speaks of birth, life, and the end of it. It speaks of a realm where even death becomes solely a matter of sound and scent".
The debut album by Iuga emerges as a deeply immersive work of cinematic ambient music, entirely created through analog and modular synthesizers. Built around dense textures, slow-moving tensions and emotionally charged atmospheres, the album explores the psych…

"In more than one case, Europe beyond the Iron Curtain has generated interesting groups, especially in the fields of industrial and esoteric music: just think of names like Laibach, Autopsia and ACTUS. Fellow countrymen of the latter, the Slovakian Simulacrum record their second work for our Amplexus, endowed with a distinctive character that, while remaining within the scope of a very dark ambient ritual, distinguishes them from the l…
