Dark Companion Records is truly thrilled to add this extraordinary band to our family of artists. This album marks their debut for our Unifaun Productions. To The Cloud-Cuckoo Land of Color Wheels is the third album by Malesh, a Wyrd Folk project hailing from the hidden caves of Tuscia. The album was written and recorded by the duo Pablo Monterisi and Martino Petrella at Domitia Jovian’s Viburnum Studio in Monterano, while the visuals and costumes are the result of a collaboration with Roman artist Rebecca D’Angelo.
The album marks a break from previous material: it features layers constructed from found sounds, often arranged to the max with dozens of different instruments, then disintegrated and reassembled multiple times in a two-year process of construction and demolition. This self-destructive working method has given birth to nine very different songs, which retrace the imaginative journey of five Etruscan spirits through the ruins of a vanished world. A new journey, therefore, of rediscovering ancient traditions mixed with imaginary civilizations, blending Etruscans, Faliscans, Gaels, aliens, and who knows what else. The result of this journey is To The Cloud-Cuckoo Land of Color Wheels, due out in April 10, 2026 on the Dark
Companion/Unifaun Productions label.
