Merzbow (メルツバウ) is the main recording name of the Japanese noise musician Masami Akita (秋田 昌美, Akita Masami) Since 1979 he has released in excess of 350 recordings. The name "Merzbow" comes from German artist Kurt Schwitters' artwork, "Merzbau". This was chosen to reflect Akita's dada influence and junk art aesthetic. In addition to this, Akita has cited a wide range of influences from progressive rock, free jazz, modern classical and musique concrète to BDSM and Japanese bondage. Recently he h…
Here's a rose plucked from the magnetic garden. Rick Reed's solo project from 1985. Entitled "Music For The Rothko Chapel" . Reed has long had a fascination for the chapel, located in Houston, Texas, which contains some of the last large scale paintings by the late abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko. Almost completely monochromatic, in deep shades of purple and near black, the paintings seem to want to pull the viewer into it's mysterious world of the void. Reed wanted to create not so m…
This new release features two 'rhythmic' tracks that were recorded during the 'Teilmengen' sessions (which appeared on CD as 'a-Menge' and 'b-Menge' on Ritornell) but were not used for these albums as Asmus Tietchens regarded them as too different to the other pieces and therefore decided to have them released on their own. Limited edition of 500 copies.
Italian sound artist Giulio Aldinucci returns with his third album on Karlrecords: "Shards of Distant Times" is again a truly masterfully composed and sound-designed ambient masterpiece and a more than worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed "Borders and Ruins" (2017) and "Disappearing in a Mirror" (2018) which both made it onto several year's best lists.
In process of stocking. **100 copies** "The dark jails of the city of Ugarit are only lit by distant torches that light up the maze of streets, houses and tangled temples. From there too, we hear the awful ritual, incantations and other terrifying spells dedicated to Baal. The new Moloch Conspiracy album sets up atmospheres inspired by different collections of liturgical and religious texts found in the ruins of the city of Ugarit in Syria. The civilization of Ugarit expresses a very strong reli…
Fortuna Records return with an exceptional reissue of a mid-80s early electronica LP by keyboardist Raviv Gazit. The album was composed entirely on the Synclavier synthesizer in the basement of the Tel-Aviv University in 1985. Gazit was ahead of his time composing cold yet blissful electronic music for film and theatre which he later released as an album. An unexpected yet extremely welcome addition to Fortuna's killer catalog.
"Very Ltd. Edition 12"EP on this highly intriguing label. Musical, captivating and a more than a bit nuts. Big tip! Hailing from the Ruhrgebiet and now based in Cologne, sound enthusiast and percussionist Tulips is cofounder of the free-wheeling improv kraut group Nasssau, plays together with TRJJ (of Belgium’s Stroom crew) in the duo P.Vee, and is part of Cologne’s dub-minded jam hounds Montel Palmer.Produced in his bedroom, the sonic palette for this EP derives from primitive key improvisation…
Spirit & Form is the brainchild of co-conspirators David Edren and Bent Von Bent, who both released solo albums as DSR Lines and Ōgon Batto, respectively. S&F is a next step in their path of exploring various works of output. This new project breaks their initial setup of improvisation to explore a more compositional modus operandi.
Remastered (from original tapes) reissue of The Cabs' 7th studio album, originally released in 1985. "Cabaret Voltaire, alongside Human League, Throbbing Gristle, Fad Gadget and The Normal, were at the forefront of the UK electronic movement of the late 70s. Way ahead of their time, Cabaret Voltaire’s blend of dance music, techno, dub, house and experimental made them, without a doubt, one of the most influential acts of the last 35 years.

**300 copies** Throwing himself into bouts of taut, fractious, and probing electronics on his sophomore LP, The Revolt of Aphrodite, Sam Wills uses the same palette as found on his White On White LP - PPG Wave, Kurzweil K250, Emulator 4 and Lexicon 224 - albeit with a finer manipulation of form. Oscillating between the Alva Noto / Anne-James Chaton-esque minimalism of All This Vulgar Data, to the cubist UKFunky rhythms in Iolanthe Dances and Dego-like broken beats in Skins Plastered With White L…

Single sided 10”, pressed on silver vinyl with screen-printed B-side. Numbered edition of 300. Infinite Greyscale is delighted to present a new long-form composition by Anduin. Since 2008, Jonathan Lee has been releasing beguiling and dusky cinematic music to great acclaim. Last Days of Montrose House is a deeply impressionistic work that’s constantly changing scene and perspective. Like entering a long abandoned building, it suggests both physical space and the unknown. The sound of a projecto…
**CD version** "Window In is Michael Vallera’s third full length offering on Denovali, following All Perfect Days (2018) and Vivid Flu (2017). The four tracks that compose Window In are an exercise in density, movement, and space. Raw studio recordings of electric guitar were taken as the foundation, then heavily altered and manipulated through sampling, erasing the trace back to origin of the sound. The result is a series of vignettes that are unattached to a particular source but instead exist…
"The North Bend is about the Pacific Northwest region of the USA, where I lived at the time the album was made. Still, today I consider that region my spiritual home, even though I am now living on the East Coast.I had met Lawrence English in Poland back in 2009 and he kindly invited me to make a record for the label. I was a fan of his releases so this was really an obvious thing for me to say “yes” to and a chance to create something special. I had released a few EPs and an LP under my name, a…
**300 copies, orange vinyl** "After inaugurating Sferic with the Synthetic Space LP in 2017, Echium now leads the way with a remarkably refined, even meticulous grasp of sound design steering away from purely “synthetic space” to imaginary spaces that smudge the listener’s perceptions of artificial and organic texture, tone and spatial dynamics.Like the best of its contemporary field, from Vladislav Delay to Uon and Heith, the meticulous technical physics of Disruptions of Form provides the fram…
