**300 copies** Recorded over a six year period, Sabbatical’s 'Sundown' draws inspiration in minimal, post-minimal and Fourth World composers such as Alvin Curran, Jon Hassell, and Dan Morehouse. 'The album was produced with a large array of instruments, including autoharp, omnichord, melodica, various synthesizers, tape delay, bass guitar, and toy piano, but with each note these instruments make carefully folded into another. Reflecting its long conception, every track is exquisitely paced throu…
** Edition of 250. Corners slightly bumped ** Love All Day is proud to present a limited double LP reissue of a one of a kind, completely original collection of songs created by two American expatriates living in London in 1980. Recorded in their living room on a Teac tape machine, Synthesis was entirely composed and performed on a mail order Serge synthesizer kit that Planetary Peace (the husband and wife duo of Will and Kalima Sawyer) had built themselves. Originally dubbed in a minuscule cass…
**250 copies** Love All Day follows up last year’s Planetary Peace reissue with Warren Sampson’s little-known ambient masterpiece 'Traveller'. Hailing from Minnesota and inspired by the early work of Brian Eno and Jon Hassell, Sampson infused their compositional modes with a self-effacing and distinctly Upper Midwest approach that is equal parts isolated and expansive. 'Traveller' was recorded in a bedroom closet studio on a four-track TEAC reel-to-reel between the late 1970s through the mid 198…
**150 copies** Sublime new full length album by Norm Chambers, his second for Love All Day following the 2012 cassette release 'Blue Grotto', which was issued under his Panabrite moniker. One of the most consistently original and creative composers working in electronic music today, 'Air Example' pulses with all of the lovely melodies and unexpected turns we’ve come to expect of him. The fruit of two years labor, these twelve works represent a disparate group of material that somehow manages to …
Gilgongo Records presents the highly anticipated debut vinyl edition of John Wiese’s acclaimed album, 'Seven of Wands', originally released on Pan back in 2011. Uniquely beautiful, immersive, and transportive, it utilizes strategies and techniques of musique concrète and electroacoustic music, while emphasizing the mixing desk as a true instrument. As a composer, Wiese is an elusive one. Employing a very healthy range of conceptual framework throughout his oevure, he’s unmistakably recognizable,…
**100 copies** Another rare item originally published on a single-sided lathe cut record (8 copies only!) returns to the light. Dirk Serries' 'The Devastation Chant' was part of the "8+8" series released by 13 back in 2015, and since then has become quite a rarity. This time it is re-released as a limited edition 10" vinyl record coming in a deluxe gatefold sleeve, with the flipside offering an unreleased piece culled from the same sessions. As in the best Serries / Vidna Obmana / Fear Falls Bur…
Chris Imler returns here on a 7″ with a straightforward appellation to his new one-man bang-gang. This new waxing on the Meeuw Muzak label brings us a spirited pair of ear-jingling primeval drumtasms, the first is his own 'sci-fi romanticist socialist anthem' 'Vorwärts', then we have a jerry-rigged version of the Chris Montez classic 'Let’s Dance' on the flipside. There’s a lot of kinetic energy here, everything being recorded live with a rhythmatist’s ear for a chugging beat and waves of delaye…
Mark Boombastik is apparently the world’s #1 experimental human beatbox. I wouldn’t have guessed that from the sound of these two tracks, but I believe it. 'Plastik Lieb' sounds a lot like Sex Unter Wasser-era DAF and I mean that as a compliment. The B side is a very odd, but also funny piece of music. Excellent Meeuw release. Mesmerizing cover. The legend lives on. Fantastik, Boombastik! (The extra ‘k’ is an extra kiss.) (Scott Foust, Swill Radio)
A collaborative 7” featuring the talents of author, musician and columnist Max Goldt reconstituted by self confessed dadaist Felix Kubin and beat-box master Mark Boombastik. Side-A sees Kubin and Boombastic applying a new skin to Goldt's hotel room reading of 'Fog Frog'. In this case, a break-beat techno/mid '90s drum 'n' bass skin that most definitely features the sound of radiators being hit with sticks. Flip it and we are taken back to 1983 for a re-run of Goldt's 'post-feminist pre-ejaculati…
The Pitchshifters is a project by Hideto Aso from Japan. This is his second release on Meeuw Muzak and as usual his contributions were culled from old and scarce self-released CD-R editions. Wonderful naive and outstanding synth music on the first side with some more dreamy electroacoustic experiments on the flip. Immerse yourself in the delicate sound of The Pitchshifters and yours is the reward.
With ‘Chords’, the Stockholm-based musician and composer Ellen Arkbro returns to Subtext, following her acclaimed debut album ‘For Organ and Brass’. This new longplayer sees Arkbro adopt a more minimalist approach, focusing on the immediate qualities of sound and elegantly expanding the tonal capacities of acoustic instruments using precise, subtle synthesis. Composed of a carefully selected combination of tones, ‘Chords’ stretches, extends and obscures the timbral character of the instruments i…
**100 copies** 13 bless us with the due re-issue of a masterful track created by Carl Michael Von Hausswolff for their "8+8" series that was originally published on a single-sided lathe cut record (8 copies only!) back in 2015. This time 'Cut down and Re-order' comes as a limited edition 10" vinyl record, and the flipside offers a completely unreleased piece which is dedicated to Zbigniew Karkowski. Both numbers are pure bliss - and ecstastic in equal measure - with the title track also borderin…
**300 copies** Il Grande Silenzio is a project by Japanese artists Atsuo Ogawa and Minoru Sato. On 'Dry Lake' they offer two minimal compositions that feature banjo, field recordings and electronics.
Wendy & Luke is a project that involves veteran German musician Albert Oehlen and younger French artist Luke Calzonetti. On the programmatic 'Tony Conrad' they make use of electric violin on the first side and explore more improvisational territories on the flip.
Minoru Sato is a Japanese sound artist who began producing music under the name 'm/s' in 1989. Since then, his work has expanded to sound installations, performances, exhibit curation and written text. He often collaborates with fellow droner and installation artist Naoyuki Arashi, best known as Asuna. On this 7" record released on the Meeuw Muzak label they offer two fine examples of their droning conjurings.
Joe Colley is a visual artist and composer based in Sacramento, CA. He investigates audio phenomena, using field recordings and electronics. He also records under the name Crawl Unit and he is the founder of the label Povertech Industries. The self-explanatory 'Solo For Chair and Feedback Circuit' was recorded live at SOMArts San Francisco, California, in 2016.
Norbert Möslang is a Swiss musician active in the field of free improvisation (soprano saxophone, double bass, live electronics) and a luthier. For this work on Dutch label Meeuw Muzak he used two radios and two big flashlights.
**200 copies** This took forever but here it finally is: after a few failed pressings, a broken back, lost contact, etc.; we are truly sorry we made all you Noor fans wait! Noor, or Nour Mobarak is a Lebanese-American immigrant. Her body acts as a synecdoche for a modern geopolitical condition, one which has experienced compounded war, negotiation, treaties, trauma, and clashing cultural values, and which now must synthesise this experience to heal. Her hybrid cultural identity translates itself…
**250 copies** W. Ravenveer – Erwin Van Looveren – has been a friend for over 20 years. Erwin is a magnet and connoisseur of strange and obscure music, and prone to nervous sweating should you mention a band or weirdo he doesn’t know. His early guitar gigs (as Schidzoid) are the stuff of legend, a reputation largely based on altercations with members of the audience. Having thumped everyone in sight, Erwin’s focus shifted to buying and mastering synthesizers with his customary zeal. After self-p…
**250 copies** Frank Hurricane’s legend is such that many have heard his name years before hearing his music. Hurricane Frank, if you will, is the kind of character that can spin an audience into a psychedelic vortex that will have you yelping HOLY PYMP BREW repeatedly as you zigzag your way back home. His music possesses a nagging quality: a dizzying mix of scruffy rap, Casio tones and raw dictaphone poetry that sounds like it always existed in that quattro formaggi part of your mind. Originall…
