Physical Changes
CD+DVD+LP. Mueller's mammoth new solo percussion work. If his previous solo effort "Metals" was about pummeling rhythms & frequencies, this drives the whole idea into oblivion, as the sounds here are something to be felt as much as heard.
Just digging the crazy art
LP album, numbered and stamped vinyl limited edition of 250 copies. The first is the pioneer of noise, experimental, industrial music, the other would rather be a sonorous underrated, surreal, sonic alchemist. Their music Dreamcatcher and Les 24 coups au vif are sparkling water works to get drunk. Pacific 231 created a dark aquatic atmosphere whereas Lieutenant Caramel tries to introduce some zing, pops and flings in the bubbles. Reflexive and mental, 'Just digging the crazy art' is the launch o…

Cover art by Günter Müller.
Suhina
Brilliant new recordings by the prolific cosmopolitan (currently residing in Berlin) Michael Northam. Suhina is a notion for the sound of the wind moving through the trees. Instead of doing field recordings of wind Michael Northam tried to capture this feeling & the essence of this process through instrumental recordings from Indonesian flute & keyboard. Nature phenomena seen as the true manifestation of the Unknown. Stunning full colour artwork by Indian artist Rohini Devasher. White vinyl, edi…
Music Drama 'Akai. Obscure Tape Music of Japan vol. 3
This is volume 3 in Omega Point's newly-reissued Obscure Tape Music of Japan series. Akai Mayu is a short work of fiction by Japanese writer Koubou Abe (aka Kobo Abe pseudonym of Kimifusa Abe, 1924-1993). This musical drama version was broadcast by the Japan Broadcasting System NHK in 1960 and composed by Makoto Moroi, a pioneer of Japanese electronic music. He composed the music with a chamber ensemble, mixed chorus and electronic sound. This piece was performed at Sogetsu Art Center as a p…
Electronic symphony No.1
Little-known composer Hiroaki Minami was a professor of electronic music at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music and is a pioneer of synthesizer music in Japan. He built a private studio for his self-made synthesizer in his home in 1976, and shortly thereafter, he composed this piece, Electronic Symphony No. 1, filled with spacey and very noisy analog synthesizer sounds, much like Roland Kayn's '60s concrète works. Contains liner notes by the artist in Japanese and English; h…
Oto No Hajimari Wo Motomete 7 Tsutomu Kojima Work II
Recent issue of Japanese electronic music made by NHK electronic music studio after EXPO'70. This CD consists of 4 works assisted by engineer Tsutomu Kojima who assisted many electronic works of avant-garde composers. (Jean Claude Eloy's well known concrete music "Gaku-no-Michi" was also assisted by him.) 1. “Palace of Green Space for Electronic Music” Kiyotomi Yoshizaki (1979) Opposite concepts such as “Science and Art, Yang and Yin, Symmetry and Dissymmetry” are generally constructed based on…

Erector
Originally recorded in 1980, Erector was harsher and less 'industrial' sounding than the first two albums and arguably became the seminal influence, along with The 150 Murderous Passions LP, for the subsequent wave in the mid/late '80s of noise projects (in particular Japanese); also featured for the first time in vinyl format is the originally banned cover art by Steven Stapleton.
Telescope Mind
Tussle's early output on Troubleman Unlimited proved to be quite a hit with tastemakers like John Peel and Trevor Jackson. Now, a few years down the line the group have lost one of their founding members (oddly, Vetiver's Andy Cabic used to play bass for the band) but have honed their modernised take on disco and rhythm music, with Telescope Mind achieving an immensely successful blend of experimental techniques and pop minimalism. After the brief, introductory piece, 'Lyre', 'Warning' comes acr…
Kokt Kveite
Overlooked 12" from Bjorn Torske. With references to 23 Skidoo, This Heat, Residents, Idut Boy and Count Ossie and his unique blend of quirky, avant-garde, dubbed out, psychedelic sounds Torske creates a whole new genre: the free-disco. B-side track 'Soloppgang Over Yukigaya' was featured on Prins Thomas' 'Cosmo Galactic Prism' mix-cd, and rightly so.
Where Were You On Christmas?
A brand new Christmas single from long-running Los Angeles avant-garde pioneer TOM RECCHION. Includes the Yuletide faves "Where Were You On Christmas?" and "A Christmas Filled With Tears." Limited edition pressing, imported from The Netherlands.
Laugh China Doll
In 1984 when “Laugh China Doll” and “Dance, China Doll” first appeared, it was difficult enough to try and suss the Legendary Pink Dots. For the few, the proud, the brave who actually had some of the early cassettes, it was apparent that LPDs’ had some serious avant-garde habits. For those who only had the LPD records as cosmological references, the progressive accents left a bizarre and refreshing taste in the midst of the early post wave synth landscape. So what now of all this China Doll busi…
Provocative Electronics
Provocative Electronics is an exploration in analog synthesizers and recording techniques. As in the days of musique concrete and the beginning years of synthesizer development, Ortmann experiments with tones and his own brand of electronic tweakage. Provocative Electronics is not a homage, but yet another document in the ongoing history of Electronic Music. For fans of the 20th century Greek composer Xenakis, minimalist John Cage, or pioneer of musique concrete Pierre Schaeffer, Mort Garson, Mi…
Ride A Dove
Shockingly violent, brain-exploding music that says it's rock right on the cover. Otherwise, you might think it was a snuff record. Will thrill you with the joy of living, but will also make you run outside and start a fistfight. S'okay though, as the band started plenty of fights themselves. Miami's greatest. Bill Orcutt, Adris Hoyos. Tracklisting: I Started a Band, Self Expression, The Man in the Mirror, Ride a Dove, Free Pussy, The Man in the Mirror Part II.
Exactly As I Am
Exactly As I Am is the third and final release in The Hafler Trio's collaborative series with Jonsi Birgisson of Sigur Ros. Like the first two in the series Exactly As I Am is a double full length release and is comprised of all new material recorded in May/June of 2005. Exactly As I Am is lavishly packaged in a special die cut oversized package printed on two different types of parchment, meant to imitate small editions of French poetry ca. 1900.
Yesterday & Today
Double vinyl LP pressing includes bonus CD pressing of this 2009 release. The Field is Axel Willner, and 2007's Here We Go Sublime was one of the year's most acclaimed releases, receiving a 9.0 from Pitchfork as well as universal praise. It was a soundtrack to the spit-shined airport of your dreams - faceless, futuristic, and fuzzy. Now, Willner expands his palette, continuing the oblique sampling strategy while building up the rhythmic architecture.
Discovery
Clear and Discovery were originally released as two companion CDRs by James Ferraro (of the whole Skaters / Lamborghini Crystal / 90120 / Splash / Nirvana axis) and comprise the August 1974 (Taj-Mahal Travellers) of his discography. Both albums contain absolutely beautiful whirling hall-of-knives-style synth drone that makes one want to reference Klaus Schulze or Bobby Beausoleil. Clear bursts with flam beats and a cluster of melodies muffled like a calliope wrapped in a soggy tarp, while Discov…
