Let's Make Better Mistakes Tomorrow is the third full-length CD from the young Polish musician Tomasz Bednarcyzk. Following Summer Feelings and Painting Sky Together (Room40), Bednarczyk naturally continues his process of utilizing mainly treated piano and guitar to create fragile, lingering structures that hover around only a few fundamental notes. Let's Make Better Mistakes Tomorrow is divided into two sections, split down the middle by 'The Sketch,' which was written in cooperation with Adria…

A striking collaboration took place between Andrea Belfi on drums and assorted small percussion and Rutger Zuydervelt on guitar and organ. Together they produce the 'pulses' and 'places' mentioned in the title. Organic yet partially improvised, it resembles a kind of sonic geography. The listener is taken away for a journey of mild drones, soft yet outspoken percussion. A strong release.

RESTOCKED!! Brand new full length from Cleveland's Emeralds recorded Aug-Sept 2008. Proper follow up to their debut LP 'Solar Bridge', 'EMERALDS' takes the thick drone sound of that LP and transforms it into an even more abstract and strange place. Visual music that lifts the listener up and transports them through tubes of sound occasionally to be swept into the opposite direction by an unexpected entrance into another world entirely. An intense journey that drops you off in a place just be…

Legendary Minimal-Synth/Wave-Band from Philadelphia formed in 1979. Choosing toy instruments and live drums out of necessity, Crash Course in Science began by experimenting with a series of recording devices. The toy instruments gave way to crude drum machines and “Frankenstein“-type homemade instruments. Their first 7“ (also included with bonus tracks in this set) introduced listeners to a noisy, unpredictable world. This 7” went on to become a classic minimal-synth record that should be includ…

This 10" is the most condensed kind of a summary of the sound of [multer] in its whole variety from 1997 to 2003. From abstract soundscapes with added field-recordings to hypnotically looping song-derivates or even shorter running proto-tech. ………and everything fits. The three-piece out of Dortmund, Germany produces timeless music, that may appeal to fans of Labradford, with its swirling, timestretched guitar-chords. Barbed are Alex Burrow and Alex McKechnie. They formed in London in 1988, and spent the next six years working on their “album”. During that time they worked pretty much 14 hours a day, seven days a week. They didn’t go out or see anyone. Their high concept was to avoid cliche; create a music they’d never heard before and which worked completely in its own space by its own rules. Thanks to the amazing patience and encouragement of These Records (or Recommended Records as they were known then) th…
After quite some silence here come two unheard tracks by the mysterious German duo Cranioclast. In keeping with the spirit of the 10” travel document series, issued by the krev ministry of detours, Cranioclast provide two rhythmic tracks in the form of cocktail recipes. Side 1 utilizes a crazed out beatbox sound and intermingles the beat patterns with all kinds of noise and tape splicings. Woven in with this active soundscape is Cranioclast’s signature sound – distant voices. This time the human…
