Repress of the stunning debut from Moin - experimental art rock/post-punk group made up of both Raime members and percussionist Valentina Magaletti. A serendipitous conversation brought the project to life. Moot! allowed the group to re-appreciate the recording process, using a combination of live recording and studio techniques. The album spans psych, alternative rock and post-punk mixed with their signature electronics and sampling practice.
The record was made as an experiment, to be enjoyed,…
You Never End is the third album from Valentina Magaletti, Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews (Moin) out via AD 93 on the 25th October. Its title alone expresses the teetering and shifting nature of both the album and band. This record marks the Moin’s shift into a new phase with vocal collaborations across the album from Olan Monk, james K, Coby Sey and Sophia Al-Maria.
The album’s collaborators all have voices that are alluring in their own right whilst hard to pin down: from james K’s ethereal, rev…
The Tumbling Psychic Joy of Now, a ritualistic and expanding collaborative album between Holy Tongue and Shackleton, will be released by AD 93 on the 23rd August 2024. Holy Tongue are a trio composed of Valentina Magaletti, Al Wootton and Susumu Mukai. Accomplished musicians in their own right, they combined to create psychedelic, free-form, high energy, spiritual dub-dance music across a trilogy of critically acclaimed EPs and their debut album Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare. Their high ener…
2024 lucky restock. World-renowned drummer-composer Valentina Magaletti teams up with music producer and multi-instrumentalist Zongamin in their East London studio to create an album of Dub / Post-Punk influenced material, featuring Vanishing Twin's Cathy Lucas, Coby Sey and Venus Ex Machina.
Dub postcards, east London boats, reflections in the eye of a cat, swallowing your tarot card, spitting echo from calming substances, yellow paint on our shut down local brunch spot, post-punk golden rules,…
Dylan Henner returns to AD93 with a follow-up to 2020's 'The Invention of the Human', plugging the teachings of Terry Riley and Steve Reich into a vivid digital dimension that touches Geinoh Yamashirogumi's "Akira" OST and Spencer Clark's tape-fucked neo-psychedelia.
‘Paste’ is the new album by Moin (Joe Andrews, Tom Halstead & Valentina Magaletti) due for release on the 28th October 2022 via AD 93. The follow up to their well received debut album ‘Moot!’, the record draws influences from alternative guitar music in its many forms, using electronic manipulations and sampling techniques to redefine it's context, not settling on any one style but moving through them in search of new connections. By exploring these relationships, Moin delivers another collage…
The follow-up to Christoph De Babalon’s ‘Teyas’ collaboration with WIDT picks up in equally bleak and dramatic terrain, following his instincts for a sort of theatrical breakcore style comparable with early Venetian Snares on Zhark. There’s nowt like a bit of German opera to get the blood up, as with the scene setting chorale that gives way to gnashing breaks in ‘Kein Bild Machen’, while ‘Hung on a String’ comms with pebbledash drums and deathly, keening strings beside the bone-clacking breakbe…
Angel’s Flight is the new album from highly-acclaimed producer and composer Biosphere. Ever since he debuted on Origo/Apollo with the groundbreaking ’Microgravity’, now thirty years ago, Geir Jenssen has been a major force in ambient techno, steadily building a catalogue that’s rivalled only by few. After three wonderful albums on Biophon (2018’s ’The Hilvarenbeek Recordings’, that has Jenssen samplng a broad palette of Dutch farm sounds is a total store favorite) the Norwegian maestro has now l…
Wavey, dystopian industrial-electronic tripscapes from NON and Hyperdub affiliate and multi-disciplinary artist Venus Ex Machina. F*ck Cyberpunk 2077, this is cyberpunk 2021. She's made an AI opera, been involved in various art projects and composed for film, now Venus Ex Machina has deployed her debut full-length - a sprawling dystopia of decaying industrial beatscapes, squealing noise, drones and disorienting sound design. "Lux" isn't just a collection of odds and ends, it's a narrative univer…
"The Invention of The Human" is designed as a response to the question "what makes us human?" The question has become increasingly important in this period of history, in that many of the answers aren't good enough. "Civilisation" could be one answer; but what good is civilization where there is so much misery within it?
"Progress" could be another; but what good is progress without kindness and empathy to sustain it? Taking the thought of man's relationship with technology as a measure of human…
