Voices and Piano
Voices and Piano, written for Nicolas Hodges, is an extensive cycle of pieces, each for a single recorded voice, mostly of a well-known celebrity, and piano. The cycle is still in progress and should eventually include about 80 pieces/voices (arround 4 hours of music). The work is always meant to occur as a selection from the whole. At present I like to write works where the whole should not be presented at once. The whole should remain the whole, and what we hear is just a part of it. I like to…

Monos/Und
Opcion (formaly known as Ab-Hinc is not unknown name on GODrec, since he took part of remixing Kajkyt's Krst (see GOD 04). First side of his debut, MONOS/UND, offers three pieces of heavily processed and composed noise, accompanied with harsh beats, during second side shows his collaborative side, joining forces with Maja Osojnik, Bernhard Loibner and Kurt Bauer, with improvised pieces being edited until becoming fully constructed pieces...
Terrible Fake
Terrible Fake explores rhythmic relationships between drums and piano in context of somewhat crippled art of trip-hop. It is mostly based on irregular beats in order to create kind of fragmented groove. Different characters are alsoemphasized through mostly chromatic movements of piano in different registers, producing either undefined tonal system or droning wall of sound.Terrible Dub is nevertheless a "dub" version of the piece which minimizes Terrible Fake to it's fundamentals regarding time …
Dw16 / Songbook
DW is an on-going cycle of Bernhard Lang's pieces, where composer explorespossibilities of loops and repetitions, which became his compositional trademark. Songbook I is another piece where Lang highly involves his patterns from Jazz and Pop music, transformed through “damaged beats”. "For many years one of my main influences beside the work of Philip Jeck were the movies of Martin Arnold: they more or less became the trigger for the series of pieces called Difference/Repetition
Dark Matter
'I don't do anything special with the instruments. I don't use extended techniques. I use the pure sound of the instruments, with alterations in tuning to make audible [acoustic] beating.' This statement introduces a new Alvin Lucier mindblowing LP record, that includes two compositions for flutes and glissando flute, “13 degrees of darkness” and "Double Himalaya", as well as a fantastic version of the legendary "Still And Moving Lines Of Silence In Families Of Hyperbolas".Performed by Manuel Zu…
Aouie - Bass Clarinet Solos
An amazing series of pieces for Bass clarinet as an exploration of polyphonic sound universe. Within interactions of spatial and instrument sound, she uses variety of sounds to produce coherent work, dealing with simultaneous representations of multidimensional acoustic events. This release is cooperation with Chmafu Nocords.
Organ Works Vol. 2
The second instalment of Klaus Lang's organ works and once again, two monumental works that span over two vinyl sides. "ABD" - contemporary vision of sacral chord progressions. "Melrose abbey" - perverse art of mourning music. Ultimate drone. Absolute torment.
Memory Space
The central concept behind Alvin Lucier's Memory Space is the representation of another time and place through the use of a new set of sounds. In his instructions, Lucier asks the performer/s to go to an environment and record by any means (notes on paper, graphics, audio recording or by memory) the sound situations that are present, then, at any later time, in a different space, attempt to recreate that situation. The purpose of the work is to avoid elaboration or embellishment, but given that …
...On What There Is...
Kallabris and Lepenik have been collaborating on an unnamed project for years. At one point, wasn't even sure that it will see the light of the day at all. But, never provoke with destiny! Different musical personalities but with many common musical points, offered extremely polarized piece of art, some kind of kaleidoscope of musical suprises and always on the edge of disintegration. A record that mixes a wide range of styles, opening with slow ambiesque vignettes, elegiac passages, continuing …
Untitled #295
Francisco López is not only famous for his profilic sound creations, but also for different aspects of sound manipulations. Since his very beginnings, he explores different fields of sound and almost entire his work belongs to serie "untitled". Untitled #295 is a piece created specially for two sides of vinyl. Besides Francisco Lopez's famous moving soundscapes, it's the pulse what makes this work driving. And not only typical pulse - a regular one with irregular accents. Slowly developing it ta…
Revue instrumentale et electronique
Gerd Kühr is a synonym for combining complexity and simplicity, modernity and “tradition”. Revue instrumentale et électronique - spatial composition for an instrumental ensemble and recorded sound in six movements – manage to cross and unite great variety of aspects of musical expression: complex, though powerful rhythmical constructions with hard accented percussion - boosted through ensemble spread in a room - and highly lyrical passages with extreme appreciation of time structured silence. Al…
The Art Of Living Dies...
Lack of musical material, minimalism but not for it's purposes, patterns shifting in themselves...The Art of Living Dies...The piece is performed by Michael Moser, a cult figure in Austrian new music, whose work includes significant collaborations with bands like Polwechsel and Zeitkratzer and artist such as Bernhard Lang, Peter Ablinger, Fennesz, David Sylvian (Manafon). Very slow, extremely static, the piece drives into one direction, without specific target but also without tendency to be con…
Regenstucke Vol.1
You never know what to expect from Peter Ablinger: noise, silence, serious grotesque or black humor. And you always get  a total opposition from what you have expected, which makes him so special and unique! On his first release for GODrec, he offers two pieces from his famous "Regenstück" series: "Ohne Titel / 3 Klaviere (1-6) and "Regenstück 1-6 / 6 (3) Schalgzeuger. "Ohne Titel / 3 Klaviere" involves one tone in changing octaves (and very seldom a few additional pitches). There are 6 sections…
Tables are turned
project by Bernhard Lang and Alter Ego with Philip Jeck for turntables and amplified ensemble, based on the song by Amon Duul. Tables Are Turned is the first collaboration between one of the most significant austrian composers of today, Bernhard Lang, and prominent english turntablist Philip Jeck. There is no doubt that mutual interested in loop technique, led to the musical colaboration between two artists, connecting the worlds of academic philosophy with underground aesthetic. Unlike his prev…
Dehypnotisation
LSD is one more trio formation from Vienna on GODrec, that works mainly in the field of electro-acoustic improvisation. They are also a part of big network for improvised music and soundart (Klangkunst), velak and snim. Also another formation which possess distinct quality - unique sound. And not only, their fantastic ability to react on each other, which builds variety of styles where they are moving, no matter if we speak about rhythmical "conversations" of different sound sources, or all over…
Monadologie XII
For the second time, rocked Bernhard Lang basis of GODrec, delivering his ultimate piece from Monadologie series –Monadologie XII, for ensemble. Unlike the previous release (TablesAreTurned, with Philip Jeck), Monadologie XII is nothing less than a blast: a three-part concerto for ensemble with occasional saxophone solos and terrific drum parts (watch your ears on the second side of the vinyl!). And all that, in astonishing performance of Klangforum Wien, under the direction of genius Johannes K…
Organ Works Vol. 1
I put my music into the space. I don’t want to send any messages, I think of nothing and I don’t want to purport any meanings. The listeners hear what they hear and behave to the music as they feel. Austrian composer, Klaus Lang, describes himself as observer of tones. As stated himself, his roots belong to Gregorian tradition and his music definitely represents abstract way of perceiving it.  Though abstraction (of form and content), he is interested in clarity and truth. His work includes piec…
Regenstucke Vol. 2
A sensational album by one of the most original composers of our time. Since Regenstucke Vol. 1 deals with rain aesthetic in pure instrumental form, Vol. 2  shows Peter Ablinger´s fascination with techniques of filed recordings, accompanied by different ensembles and orchestra setups. Ablinger has been exploring different sides and features of nature recordings for a very long time, always achieving new territories and pushing boundaries to higher level. This release represents only a minority o…
