Long Hair

Vampire State Building
Reissue of this German rock classic album from 1971 by Hamburg quintet Alcatraz, coming with an additional track, recorded in 1972 at the Windrose Dumont studio in Hamburg. Alcatraz largely instrumental music was related to Miles Davis "In A Silent Way", early King Crimson and Soft Machine. Most successful was the 12 minutes "Simply Headphone Mind". The 13 minutes title track was a long improvisation with lots of fuzz guitar. According to Dag Erik Asbjornsen "Vampire State Building" is currently…
Creepy John Thomas + Brother Bat Bone
2LP in bundle. This is an official release in cooperation with Ax Genrich. Ax Genrich joined Guru Guru in 1970 as the extraordinary guitarist on their first five albums. One can`t overstate Ax Genrich`s talent, as one of the most phenomenal and unique German guitarists (Freeman Brothers in “The crack in the cosmic egg“). The music on his first solo album Highdelberg comes from recording sessions with Conny Plank at the controls and the music was done by friends stopping by to jam. With the likes…
Come With Me
This is the first official re-release on vinyl under licensed courtesy of Cherry Red Records Ltd, UK, remastered from an original master copy. Rust were Australian born John Thomas on guitar and vocals and two Englishmen, Brian Hillman on drums and Walt Monaghan on bass and vocals, immersed in the beginnings of the kraut scene in Germany. Originally recorded in autumn 1968 and released in early 1969 on the German HörZu label, their album 'Come With Me' is something of a lost mini-classic. In Aus…
Highdelberg

The Royal Servants, forerunners of Eulenspygel, were formed in 1965 in Swabia/Germany. Starting up with beat music, they gradually turned to Blues Rock, finally Progressive Psychedelic and released one album named "We". In early 1971, they were one of the first bands to write their songs in German. So they changed their name into Eulenspygel the same year and the first new release was named "2", recorded at the Maschen studio near Hamburg. The front cover caused a scandal because of a burnt chic…
Ausschuss
*Gimmix cover. Exact reproduction (!) of original cover sleeve with 4 sided cover sided insert sheet* The record company came up with the idea to have the second album recorded in the Apple Studios In London, instead of in a crummy German studio. At the beginning of April 1972 Eulenspygel went to London by train with their string instruments to start the recordings. lntercord had booked the band for only five days in the studio: for the German and English (TRASH on Long Hair LHC 277) versions of…
Trash
Official release of English version of 'Ausschuss' album by  Eulenspygel.  'Ausschuss' was intended for release by Intercord in 1972, but never went beyond the status of an 8-track that had been produced for the American market. 'Trash', the title of the English version of 'Ausschuss', contains partly different mixes, consequently English vocals and was partly recorded with the help of English musicians. The recordings took place from 4.4.-8.4.1972 at the famous Apple Studios in London. The band…
Electric Silence
Originally released in 1974 on famous German label Bacillus, Dzyan's third and final album,it is recognized for its daring world beat elements, and totally acidic album cover art. Dzyan refined their sound even further into improvisation and exotic sounds, mixed with weird experimentations and mysticism. It offers other-worldly music of incredible beauty and strangeness, influenced by the music of Asia but taking it into far more original realms. Multi-instrumentalists Marron and Karwatky experi…
V.C.U.
* 2022 Repress * Another obscure album from the Nurse With Wound list, the official release of eponymous album of Frankfurt region group Lily. Lily's music revealed influences from Traffic to Van der Graaf Generator and Gnidrolog because of the flute and sax work. The album is also comparable to the 1st Nine Days Wonder or Os Mundis "43 Minuten" albums.  LP comes with insert containing band story by group member and bass player Wilfried Kirchmeier and a lot of photos. Remastered from the origina…

4 Times Sound Razing
*2022 Repress* Another NWW-listed Kraut artifact, here we have the first official vinyl reissue of this out-of-this-world legendary 1971 collector's item, recorded by a underground power trio from Hamburg. This album was Silberbart’s first and only and the fact it was laid down between April and May of 1971 -- a full two months before Guru Guru’s “Hinten” -- makes no sense whatsoever for Silberbart proceed in a detuned, free and wildly anarchic power trio manner completely akin to Guru Guru, hou…
“SWF-Session” 1974
The history of the Long hair label starts with the release of recordings of more or less unknown bands from the late sixties/ early seventies, who run a band competition in former German radio station SWR (South West Broadcast) and received with the recordings a wider public. A few of them like My Solid Ground, Kraan, became famous and recorded a lot of albums on well known German Krautrock labels. Others like Coupla Prog, Puppenhaus, Papa Zoot or Jud´s Gallery played and recorded their music at…
Goldball
Exmagma's sophomore album, 1974's 'Goldball' grooves like Hendrix jamming with Miles Davis. 'Goldball' definitely is more accessible than the band's debut. Indeed, the spirit is rock'n'roll and the approach is improvisational. This vinyl reissue comes with a biography insert and a sticker."In their sophomore release, the Exmagma guys tend to slow down their penchant for fiery experimental jazz-rock as exposed on their debut album and move to a somewhat different strategy focused on varying demon…
Exmagma
*2022 repress* Exmagma's eponymous first album, recorded in 1972 and released in 1973, reminds a lot of late '60s Soft Machine. Others compare the album to Wolfgang Dauner's output or tracks by Et Cetera. Exmagma's music goes beyond jazz and rock, using a wealth of effects and electronic gadgets. This reissue comes with a replica of the original 8-page insert and sticker.
Im Tal Der Emmen
This is the first official reissue of this extremely rare album, originally released in 1978 on the Brutkasten label. A very varied fusion album, Im Tal Der Emmen blends Embryo and Zappa / Mothers like rock and jazz mixtures, with a rich instrumental palette, full of solos and invention.Mostly it intended to sound like an instrumental Out Of Focus (Freeman Brothers in 'The Crack In The Cosmic Egg'). The album has this charming kraut / fusion style. The sextet line-up resulted in a very rich soun…
A Story Ended
This is the first official re-release on vinyl under licensed courtesy of BMG Rights Management,UK, remastered from an original master copy out of the vaults of BMG, originally released in 1972 on Bronze Records. Co-founder of Colosseum in 1968 with Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith knew from his Jazz Club years as drummer for Georgie Fame, Dick ran through this group`s hectic recording and touring schedule for over 3 years until November 1971, when it disbanded. In his late ‘30`s’ at that time,…

The album was originally released in 1971 on B & C records (Germany: Brain records). It`s rated very high by critics on the charts of acid folk albums of all time. Old Boot Wine
This is an official re-release on vinyl under licensed courtesy of BMG Rights Management, UK, remastered from an original master copy out of the vaults of BMG. The album was originally released in 1972 on Peg records. Old Boot Wine, Spirogyra`s 2nd album showcased a harder-edged sound than their predominantly acoustic debut. It was adding Mark Francis on guitar and keyboard and having less Julian Cusack hence less violin play. Spirogyra's second effort is incredible! We are given the epitome of …
Nosferatu
*Green transparent LP version. Limited edition* Originally issued in 1970, Nosferatu is band’s sole album is a highlight of early Krautrock, and it remains a lively testimonial of the fledgling German music scene of the time, which was steadily moving away from its Anglo-American role-models to create an independent sound that the English initially and somewhat disparagingly called Krautrock, but which eventually came to be a seal of quality.  A band somewhat shrouded in mystery, perhaps maintai…
Kollektiv
This legendary eponymous album, originally released on famous label Brain in 1973, is a fine example for the various styles German rock of the early 70´s (Krautrock) represented. On their first album Kollektiv produced an incomparable, unmistakeable sound with echoes of Organisation and early Kraftwerk . Led by the distorted but always rhythmic or melodic flute and sax playing by Klaus Dapper and the extraordinaire terrific guitar by Jürgen Havix and consolidated and held together by the tight r…
