*In process of stocking. 300 copies limited edition* "This is probably one of the most industrial Merzbow's records that he ever made. For an album in transitional period between his early musique concrète/sound collage pieces and later harsh noise works that he's best known for, it's nothing surprising. Nevertheless fact remains that Antimonument sounds pretty different from any other of his records, but instead of explaining it by the former way, I'd rather see it as a very intentional artistic decision. This album tells quite interesting story while making a comment and critique of social organization — this heavy, dense industrial music serves to deliver its message.
At first let's look at the title — „Antimonument”. It's neologism (with some reference to artistic movement called „anti-monuntalism”), but rather obvious in its meaning. Antimonument in opposite to traditional monument might be something rather antipathetic, not particularly great in any sense. It may also be result of a political collapse, when something that primly was seen as monumental turned up not to have any significant impact at all." - Rate Your Music
