00 Action Group is the loose New York collective run by J. Frivaldi (Joe Frivaldi), the same Frivaldi who co-produces the Abasement concert series at Artists Space and plays in ElectroPutas with Jaiko Suzuki and Akio Mokuno. Bloood 2 is the group's second record, five years after the double cassette Numero 1 on Reality Delay, and the first vinyl release on New Dracula Theater, the artist-run gallery and press founded by Frank Haines, Chip Kolpen and Kaitlyn Ekvall, which has now turned into a label with David Nuss (No-Neck Blues Band, Sabbath Assembly) on board.

The cast is a who's who of the city's noise underground: Frivaldi, Tran, RD Mayson, Lary 7, Akio Mokuno, P. Holmes and Jaiko Suzuki. Everything was recorded at Lary 7's Plastikville studio and mastered at Salt Mastering, with the whole chain kept analog. What comes out is a set of cracked, half-finished songs held together by tape, voices that drift in and out of the mix, and the kind of low-budget electronics that sound like they were built on the kitchen table. The label's own description is worth quoting because nobody else will put it better: "an assemblage of blasted system songs, upper body textures, non-electronics, and in & out voices".

Sits comfortably next to the No-Neck Blues Band and Reality Delay catalogues, the Social Registry years, and any record that treats the studio as a place to lose control rather than gain it. The track No Paint has already turned up on Brian Turner's freeform radio show. 250 copies pressed, download included, with the short film Callas by Frivaldi and Farida A'Latif thrown in.
