*2023 stock* Dàa Lünte is Daniele Virgilio's first solo album, a single composition dedicated to his father, Fabio (La Spezia, 1922-1990), an architect and ceramic sculptor of great artistic sensitivity, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. "Da lontano" (this, in the La Spezia vernacular, is the meaning of the title, extrapolated precisely from a poem written by his father in 1983) is a long, intense, evocative track of about half an hour, in which the various paths of Daniele Virgilio's sound experimentation intersect and merge: concretism, ambient music, noise, hypnotic electronic textures, harmonies and themes of minimalist derivation.
Active in the musical field since the early 1980s, Daniele Virgilio, an architect and PhD in urban planning, was the founder of the group Providence in 1981, with which he took part in 1983 in Trax 0383 of Poland, an 'assembly' cassette with other international artists (Nocturnal Emissions, Religious Overdose, Pseudo Code, Airthrob In) published by TRAX, the label-project founded by Vittore Baroni and Piermario Ciani. With the writer and screenwriter Andrea Campanella, he started and is currently active in the TMO project, the musical experimentation unit that has published several CDs for Cut-Up Publishing, among which Yasynth - Omaggio a Giacinto Scelsi (2018) stands out.
