Puccio Roelens was a Roman jazz pianist and arranger, a fixture of the RAI orchestras and of Piero Piccioni's sessions, and Research of Sound is his experimental library statement: an Edipan LP of electronic and electro-acoustic studies with the English title that the Roman labels favoured for international sales. The "research" is real; there are cues built from filtered noise, tape loops and treated piano alongside the more conventional jazz-tinged material.
Edipan was the library arm of the Rome-based Panarecord group and its releases are among the more collected. Original pressing.
