Luis De Pablo
Luis de Pablo (1930-2021) was a Spanish composer, born in Bilbao and largely self-taught. He belonged to the Generación del 51, the composers who set out to connect Spanish music with post-war European developments, and in 1965 he founded the first electronic music studio in Spain together with the group Alea. His catalogue runs from serial and open-form chamber pieces to orchestral works, operas and film scores. De Pablo graduated in law in Madrid in 1952, studied with Max Deutsch in Paris and with Maurice Ohana, and attended the Darmstadt courses in the 1960s.
