Mars

Mars was a New York no wave band active from 1975 to 1978, formed by China Burg (guitar) and Nancy Arlen (drums) with Mark Cunningham (bass) and Sumner Crane (guitar, vocals). Its abrasive, atonal music was included on the 1978 compilation No New York, produced by Brian Eno. Mars played only around two dozen shows in Manhattan, from CBGB in 1977 to a last concert at Max's Kansas City in December 1978, after which the band broke up. The single 3-E backed with 11,000 Volts came out in 1978.
