Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de México
The Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de México (Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra) was founded in 1978 by the Mexican government, on the initiative of Carmen Romano, wife of President José López Portillo. Its home is the Sala Silvestre Revueltas at the Ollín Yoliztli Cultural Center in Tlalpan, Mexico City. The orchestra has made more than 100 recordings, most of them of works by Mexican composers. On Mode it is conducted by Scott Yoo in New Orchestral Music from Mexico, with pieces by Hilda Paredes, Ana Lara, Andrea Chamizo, Marcela Rodríguez and Georgina Derbez.
