Paul Lytton

Country: United Kingdom

Paul Lytton (born 1947 in London) is an English percussionist active in free improvisation since the late 1960s. He played jazz in London before turning to improvised music in 1969, when he began a duo with saxophonist Evan Parker that would last for decades. He also uses electronics alongside percussion, and he is best known for his long work with Parker and bassist Barry Guy. The Parker and Lytton duo recorded Collective Calls (Urban) (Two Microphones) (Incus, 1972), At the Unity Theatre (Incus, 1975) and, much later, The Moment's Energy (ECM, 2007).
