Sonologyst

Sonologyst is the solo project of the Italian sound artist Raffaele Pezzella. Moving between dark ambient, drone and musique concrète, it uses found sounds and field recordings to explore what Pezzella calls contemporary mythologies, from Fortean phenomena and conspiracy theories to scientific documentaries. He is also known as the founder of the Unexplained Sounds Group label. Pezzella studied sound technique and electronic music and put out his first EP, Memorie Elettroniche Sonore, in 2000.
