The Flying Luttenbachers
The Flying Luttenbachers are a Chicago group formed in late 1991 by the multi-instrumentalist Hal Russell and the drummer Weasel Walter, who has led the band and written its music ever since. Starting out as a punk jazz trio, they developed a violent mix of no wave, noise rock, free jazz and death metal that fed into what was later called brutal prog. Hal Russell left early on, and the band's rotating lineup later included Ken Vandermark, Jeb Bishop, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Mick Barr, Henry Kaiser and Tim Dahl.
