Visible Cloaks
Visible Cloaks is an electronic duo from Portland, Oregon, made up of Spencer Doran, who started the project alone, and Ryan Carlile, who joined him later. Their software-built pieces draw on Japanese ambient, new age and synth pop of the 1980s. They are best known for Reassemblage (RVNG Intl., 2017), named after Trinh T. Minh-ha's 1982 film. Visible Cloaks released their self-titled first album on Musique Plastique. Reassemblage used a spoken sample of Miyako Koda and featured Motion Graphics and Matt Carlson, was mastered by Rashad Becker and came with visuals by Brenna Murphy.
