The Berlin Requiem
*In process of stocking. 2022 stock.* Truly monumental in scale, a huge electroacoustic fresco. Symphonic orchestration bring forth a barrage of colossal sorrow. This is electronic music of exquiste tension and ecstatic release, moving from drones to explosive classicaly orchestrated peaks. The album symbolically resurrected, though perhaps simultaneously burried, Breht and Weill's Das Berliner Requiem. In the context of 'The Berlin Reqiem', Brecht's 'Berliner Requiem' might be seen as a quotatio…

Contagious Orgasm will surprise you with his unique way to re-work & assembling broken sounds. Best ambient industrial from Far East. The cover presents some collages by "Ryuta Nogouchi" a very interesting Japanese designer.
Music For Film And Exhibition II

'Music for Film and Exhibition II' is just like that: a levelled declitre of Raison D'être, a brimful tablespoon of Atomine Elektrine, a couple of teaspoons of Necrophorus and a little bit of this and little bit of that, mixed into a perfect blend of many tastes. Peter Andersson, well-known from projects like Raison d'être, Strat…

Artist’s Invitations 1965-1985
This book aims to illustrate a little-known aspect of '60s, '70s, and '80s art, the “artist’s invitation,” namely the material (be it a card or piece of paper) printed for the specific purpose of documenting an exhibition. The criterion employed to choose the material was that of privileging the participation of the artist him- or herself in the creative process that led to the object’s production. The artistic context on which this book focuses is that of Minimalism, Conceptual Art, Land Art, P…
Requiem for Jazz
Composer, clarinetist, singer and educator Angel Bat Dawid announces the release of a new work, Requiem For Jazz. A 12-movement suite composed, arranged, and inspired in part by dialogue from Edward O. Bland’s 1959 film The Cry of Jazz, the album is a wide-ranging treatise on the African American story from one of its most astute narrators. Itself an incisive critique of racial politics in the USA, The Cry of Jazz draws formal comparisons between the structure of jazz music and the African Ameri…

Javakade 8485
Over the years, we’ve written a lot about the visionary artist, Walter Maioli, many times, highlighting an increasing number of reissue and archival releases that explore the many dimensions of his multifaceted body of work. A central architect of Italy’s singular movement of musical Minimalism, for more than half a century Maioli’s output has remained a constant source of inspiration and awe, entirely carving its own path, while establishing unexpected ties between the ancient world and others …
Shortwave Encounters
* 400 copies, White Vinyl * Shortwave Encounters is Walter Maioli’s research on extraterrestrial sounds and radio communications started in Amsterdam during the orbital passage of the Comet Halley in 1986. This record is an imaginary interaction between a sender and a receiver, an attempt to create a logged communication between earth and space, combining radio eavesdropping and field-recordings as well as acoustic and electronic instruments, spanning from shells to bat calls, and from the ney f…

Klopfzeichen
Kluster was a short-lived project of three musicians/artists/performers: Dieter Moebius, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Konrad ler. They recorded two albums with Conny Plank in 1970, unprecedented in their experimental radicalism. Chaotic, apocalyptic (noise) improvisations (a sound later termed industrial), enriched with recited lyrics in places. The trio split up not long afterwards. Exchanging the K for a C, Roedelius and Moebius continued as a duo under the name of Cluster, whilst Conrad Schnitz…
Oceanheart
Harald Grosskopf is best known as drummer in the band Ashra and for Klaus Schulze ("Moondawn") and as an electronic musician. Following "Synthesist" (1980, see below), "Oceanheart" was his second solo album. It may sound like a child of the 1980s, but in a compositional sense it is related to the Berliner Schule / Berlin School of the 70's. The reissue comes with a new artwork and was mastered from the original tapes.
Sen
*200 copies limited edition.* Guitarist Clara de Asís and flutist Mara Winter established Discreet Editions in order to locate and highlight links between ancient and contemporary, experimental approaches to music making. Adrián Demoč’s Sen, the label’s third release, treats that mission with especial seriousness. Dusted’s review of Adrián Demoč’s Žiadba meditated upon the ways that the Slovakian composer’s practice confounded the limits of statehood. This time, he has expanded one of that album…
Un Reve Sans Consequence Speciale
CD version. Bureau B present a reissue of Heldon's Un Rêve Sans Conséquence Spéciale, originally released in 1976. Heldon's Richard Pinhas has never been shy of pinpointing his influences while, at the same time, making music that is noticeably distinct from any of his designated sources. He has, for instance, made it clear that a significant font of inspiration was Robert Fripp's guitar style and melding of rock music with cutting-edge electronics (especially in collaboration with Brian Eno). I…
Stand By
This is a reissue of the seventh and final album by this quintessential progressive French electronic rock band. Originally released on Egg in 1979, this features the classic Heldon line-up of Richard Pinhas-guitar and electronics, Patric Gauthier-Moog synthesizer and electronics, Didier Batard-bass, François Auger-drums and guests, including Klaus Blasquiz of Magma. This was one of Heldon's heaviest rock albums.
6 - Interface
CD version. Bureau B present a reissue of Heldon's 6 - Interface, originally released in 1977. A brilliant moment occurs right at the end of Heldon's sixth album, Interface. The album's final song, its side-long title track, builds up slowly into a roaring tornado of fiercely mutating drum patterns, effervescent synth work, and guitar licks that wail into the atmosphere like an abandoned astronaut. Then, after nearly 19 minutes of highly futuristic avant-garde space rock, this ultramodern music …
