Politico/Zytol Automation
De Stijl's excavation of The Parasites Of The Western World turns up the lead single for their second album in the form of an exact reissue. Originally released circa 1980-81, 'Politico' opened the B-side to Substrata with a rippin' new wave roller full of glam stomp, proggy arrangement and punky attitude. The synth-fueled instrumental B-side was exclusive to the single, and as tradition dictates, far more interesting, featuring Terry Censky and Patrick Burke in an ebullient symphony of s…
Brooding Forest
Hunting Rituals is the moniker of Scott Johnson (also Scott Cloud, Thoughts On Air) which was inspired from many impromptu collaborations with other weirdo musicians within the city limits of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Brooding Forest was the first recording to feature a second member, a fellow collaborator Jeremiah Buchan from Bottom Feeder who was also a main influence on the overall ritual sound process. This recording fuses Scott's focus of feral improv with Jeremy's premeditated lands…
Dislodged Perihelion
MV Carbon is a Brooklyn-based musician/artist with a completely unconventional and wildly conceptual approach to music-making and performance. She uses fragmented field recordings, cello, guitar, analog synthesizers, samplers, drum machines, tape manipulations, and photosensitive oscillators to create eerie and weirdly unsettling compositions. Carbon has collaborated with a who's-who of avant-garde contemporanea: Aki Onda, Tony Conrad, Evan Parker, John Wiese, C Spencer Yeh, Twig Harper, B…
(Old school) Karlheinz Stockhausen
This is the fourth release in the series [old school]. The first three CDs, dedicated to the music of John Cage [zkr0009], James Tenney [zkr0010] and Alvin Lucier [zkr0011] have been highly acclaimed. London's Wire Magazine wrote: 'The rigour and discipline they collectively bring to this compositions make both discs utterly enthralling, from start to finish.' The new release is dedicated to the music of Karlheinz Stockhausen.' 'I do not want a spiritualistic session. I want music.' Karlheinz St…
2008 / 2011
Exclusive collection of the Hype Williams videos work, probably the most genuine reflections of pop culture mixed with the hyper-contemporary obsession of domestic self representation. Here you can find a massive exploitation of the Long Takes and a deliberate use of digital folklore. VHS edition
Too Down To Die
Not Not Fun's most form-destroying release from Robedoor. Seismic future-primitive energies on side-long track "Parallel Wanderer." Continues the incarnation of Robedoor featuring MG Gengras (Personable, Pocahaunted) on drums, moog, bass and piano. "Britt Brown, and Alex Brown unleash their latest Robedoor communications. 'Parallel Wanderer' is an epic drifter serving up ten minutes of raga-like drones before blowing the roof off it with crashing drums and upwards spirals of guitar. '(In The) Cy…

Reverse Atheism
Barbara Manning and S. Glass lead a small army of guest readers and musicians through barely musical versions of tunes, texts, and tracts. A survey of the exceptional, the eccentric, the feverish, and the pathologically peculiar within popular religious faith, to paraphrase William James, made by others, communicated by tradition, determined to fixed forms by imitation, and retained by habit. 70+ minutes of music fragments leached of melody and harmony, looped, hacked, noisified and depas…
Water days
The book and audio CD documents an exchange of pictures, texts, sounds and voices between multimedia artist Leah Singer and Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo. WATER DAYS began as two texts each inspired by the contrast between wanderlust and the desire for home and in this volume attempts to create a filmic sequence of photographs to augment and accompany the recording. The new sound piece WATER DAYS, a radio piece for Atelier de Création Radiophonique de France Culture (ACR) is a mix of sound recording…
Jerk // Through their tears
Jerk is a collaborative artist's book and audio recording by director Gisele Vienne, author Dennis Cooper, musician Peter Rehberg and performer Jonathan Capdevielle, which translates a previous collaborative theater work into a violent multimedia disquisition on puppetry, serial killing and homoeroticism. The play and book are based on the Texan serial killer Dean Corll. As in their theater works, Jerk. Through their tears is a multi-faceted exploration of these artists' combined interest…
Project For A Revolution In New York
The first Bruce Russell solo release Project for a Revolution in New York sees our man truly alone on the first side, messing with a guitar over a looped drone accompaniment. Remarkably subdued and dare I say, relaxing. Side two has Tom Lax (Siltbreeze main-man) and Paul Toohey (Surface of the Earth) helping out with percussion and electronics in a very free collaboration where what doesn't happen defines the tension of the piece as much as what does. There's always been a tension between noise …
Noise Music: A History
Noise/Music looks at the phenomenon of noise in music, from experimental music of the early 20th century to the Japanese noise music and glitch electronica of today. It situates different musics in their cultural and historical context, and analyses them in terms of cultural aesthetics. Paul Hegarty argues that noise is a judgement about sound, that what was noise can become acceptable as music, and that in many ways the idea of noise is similar to the idea of the avant-garde. While it provi…
Fever
Aiaiai, there we go again, 2 years ago it started and now it seems too late to ever stop it.. where is this gonna end, is of course an interesting question.. after a whole night long LA Bamba party (which is seriously a bigger aural torture than any noise gig), a lp with only La Bamba cover versions, a whole night long Popcorn and a accompanied comp lp, it's about time to abuse Eddie Cooley and John Davenport's Fever! on september 3rd 2011 the Fever night is happening on a boat in oostende, and …

Live at the Rothko Chapel
Mural's lush and inviting sound-world incorporates a wide range of percussive, harmonic, and timbral effects and suggests the vastness and mystery of time, as do Rothko's paintings. With Jim Denley on flute and saxophone, Kim Myhr on acoustic guitar, and Ingar Zach on percussion, the trio created a site-specific and improvisational work relating to, and inspired by, the Rothko murals in the Chapel. Recorded at the Rothko Chapel, March 4, 2010. (metamkine)
Installation for 300 Speakers, Pianola and Vacuum Cleaner
John Wynne's untitled installation for 300 speakers, pianola and vacuum cleaner is at once monumental, minimal and immersive. It uses sound and sculptural assemblage to explore and define architectural space and to investigate the borders between sound and music. There are three interwoven sonic elements: the ambient sound of the space in which it is installed, the notes played by the piano, and a computer-controlled soundtrack of synthetic sounds and gently manipulated notes from the piano itse…
The Sound of Insects
'The Sound of Insects' is the Soundtrack for Peter Liechti's film with the same title without the narrative voice. The movie is Peter Liechti's documentary account of a man alone in the wilderness, committing suicide by starvation, and the subsequent decay of his mind and body. Norbert Möslang's original score for 'The Sound of Insects' received the Cinema Eye Award for Outstanding Achievement in Composing at the 2011 Cinema Eye Honors for Nonfiction Filmmaking and the Swiss Film Award 2010 for …
Things That Happened
Joke Lanz aka Sudden Infant creates an unique blend of physical sound-poetry and dadaistic vocals, using contact microphones, prerecorded soundloops and noises. The result is abrupt Musique Concrète juxtapositions of spasmodic gibbering and a battery of disorienting electronics. It's a fragmented field of sound that comes to its own autonomy!' Two great live recordings which shows more the competence of Joke Lanz then the most studio recordings ! Termite Club, Leeds, England (Live 2004-08-21). R…
Hustler Power Electronics Convention
You must live in tokyo to be able to follow the immense output of the soundburrier that is Masaya Nakahara, aka Violent Onsen Geisha, most of his work doesn't make it out of Satou Dan's Tatsunoya bar in Shinjuku, not because no one wants it, just because the tokyo noise scene seems to gather there late at night to forefil their pork anus - chicken paw needs, and Nakahara's last 40 cdr's were the ideal soundtracks for this ritual. the old skool dead pan electronics, plunderphonics, parodies, nois…
Les Anges Du Peche
There are the most incredible encounters. Behind the one I had with the two guitarists of Sonic Youth lies the amazingly sharp eyes of a journalist, or more accurately a musical historian of our times, who recognised the spine of an album on which I appear, from a photo in a magazine. of an interview w Thurston Moore. Thurston is sitting in front of part of his immense record collection. This was enough to prompt a meeting prior to the group taking the stage in Marseille and opened the door to a…
