Mega Tip! **Edition of 300 copies, comes with insert** Some Fine Legacy is pleased to announce Arnold Dreyblatt’s Music from the Resting State. Though widely celebrated for the pioneering high-energy exploration of alternate tunings in his Orchestra of Excited Strings, Dreyblatt’s parallel work as an artist over the last forty years has received less attention in experimental music circles. This LP is drawn from a major installation work, The Resting State, exhibited at the Neuer Berliner Kunstv…
Some Fine Legacy is proud to announce the first LP by Project Pope, the collaborative project of Antwerp artist Gerard Herman and Christoph Heemann, known from his solo output as well as many releases with Mimir, In Camera and Mirror. Prior to Project Pope Gerard Herman has been producing a series of intriguing solo LP releases for the Entracte, Kraak and Opgewarmde Groenten labels. Then in 2021 the two met for a week at Les Ateliers Claus in Brussels to produce this new masterpiece of distorted…
Ruedi Häusermann 5th release of strinquartets from his music Theatre productions. CD with digipak and 8-page booklet. Born in 1948 and residing in the medieval Swiss town of Lenzburg, and virtually unknown outside of the German-speaking world, Häusermann is a multi-instrumentalist and enormously prolific composer who works primarily in the medium of absurdist music-theater. A virtuoso wind player and free improviser who also composes for traditional classical instrumentation, his work is charact…
Since its debut on two releases from 2011 and 2012 (the live Hit & Run with Joe Talia and the studio Audience of One), the epic structured improvisational piece ‘Knots’ has formed a staple of Oren Ambarchi’s live performances. Like a jazz musician searching for ever-new ways to play a standard, the guitarist has repeatedly brought the piece to life in a variety of settings ranging from guitar/drums duets to a large ensemble replete with string section, with each iteration bringing with it new va…
Mostly known for his intense drone performances and as bass/guitarplayer for the ultrasonic noise trio MIR, Papiro seems to slip into a different persona when left unattended with a bunch of old Synthesizers and the privilege of overdub. The nine tracks show Papiro’s affinity for melodies and complex arrangements and will please followers of early seventies electronica like Walter Carlos (A Clockwork Orange), Cluster or Bruce Haack. The LP comes in a silkscreened glow-in-the-dark cover.
Mirror is the pairing of Christoph Heemann and Andrew Chalk, an accomplished sound and visual artist whose catalogue has seen rapid expansion in recent years. Recorded in 1998, Ringstones presents two long drone pieces of immense beauty and dimension. The liner notes (words by "Sarban" from 1951) speak of a great silence suddenly encountered by a traveller who finds himself alone on the moor. These words find their perfect compliment in these…
Seclusion are Makoto Hattori and Chako with German experimental musician Christoph Heeman, who is known as a member of HNAS. They recorded this 30 minute CD while on tour in Germany at Christoph's studio. The result is deeply ambient and cold experience (which is appropriate as the title means snowfall) that is slow to reveal its secrets.
RESTOCK! Limited to 500 copies with a numbered postcard insert, this a beautiful LP by the C. Heeman duo project with Af Ursin's Timo Van Luyck was started in 2004 and has produced two albums so far, the self titled first album (Some fine legacy) and Open Air (Robot), presenting yet another facet of Heemann's ideas of textural electroacustica, this time with a focus on improvisation.
