Oren Ambarchi

Oren Ambarchi, born in Sydney in 1969, is a composer and multi-instrumentalist with a long interest in going beyond conventional instrumental approaches. His work centres on the electric guitar, re-routed, in the words of The Wire, into a zone of alien abstraction where it is no longer easily identifiable as itself, but rather a laboratory for extended sonic investigation, from subterranean bass pulses to shimmering harmonics.
