A cult was built around these this truly ominous original tape with slowed down mega-apocalyptic drone drum contemplations. Despite being created over a decade ago for limited double cassette and then compiled on ‘it stands to conceal’ this is long form esoteric cold industrial perfectly suitable for our accelerating global amnesia. Fully remastered version.
Atta’s Apartment Slated for Demolition finds Dominick Fernow’s Vatican Shadow project at a crossroads. Originally released in 2012, the album still has the blank-eyed, cold, hypnotic minimalism of his earliest albums that made Vatican Shadow one of the most unlikely breakout artists of the noise underground in the early 2010s. It’s got the cryptic yet provocative title, in this case alluding to Mohamed Atta, the ringleader behind the 9/11 hijackings. It’s got the paranoid forever-war album art a…

Rather than conside…

*250 copies limited edition* For the first time on vinyl, the Prurient long form cassette ‘expunged from the record’ final shrine before the closing of the now highly controversial and inimitable brick and mortar basement recordings. Remastered for vinyl for ultra caustic stimulating misery going back to a time in new york that could only be described as ‘unsub’.
The latest in a prolific string of solo and collaborative releases by James Rushford, Turzets collects a pair of new works primarily created and recorded last year while the Australian composer-performer was in residence at La Becque, an art center on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The side-length piece “Fallaway Whisk” explores hesitation in its many forms—reticence of speech, sonic restraint—using live, abstracted translations of text from English to German against a lush and swelling soundscape.…
The Gerogerigegege is a project I've dreamed of working with since hearing Hotel Ultra early on in my path of discovering all that noise has to offer. Here they offer up a noisy guitar and drum recording from 1985
Black Leather Jesus was also a project I dreamed of working with back then as well, and we kinda know what happened there. This is a more modern recording, of course. Harsh feedback, heavy crunch, and filthy, pervy fucking samples.
I love how this one turned out.
*2024 stock* A classic Harold Budd album originally released in 1988. Partly recorded at the Cocteau Twins studio with production help from Robin Guthrie and Brian Eno, 'The White Arcades' effortless blend of glistening synths, limpid piano notes, foggy textures and space result in a beautiful contemplative whole.
“Although its aura is ethereal and unworldly, Budd's music is actually an exemplary form of humanly useful music. When the mundane urgencies of life, or the nonsense of our political c…

“Exposição Popular” is the new album from Rio de Janeiro based producer and composer Guerrinha, sonically orbits 80´s new wave & fusion jazz, imagine a lost ECM gem, layered in low-fi subterranean exoticism, that somehow conjures the soundtracks of Angelo Badalamenti. Here we find Guerrinha loosened up, the rhythm spilling out, playfully impossible to grasp as it floats over space-age ambient synth and organ work that takes references from Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Rita Lee.
“The last LP,…
