Resistance - our Zonic Spezial documenting underground cassette culture in the latter years of the GDR caused quite a stir when it first appeared in 2006. A collaborative effort with the legendary ZickZack label and Verbrecher publishing house, “Spannung. Leistung. Widerstand. *In process of stocking* 'When in 2006 our Zonic Spezial "Voltage. Power. Resistance. Magnetic Tape Underground GDR 1979-1990" was published in cooperation with Verbrecher Verlag and the legendary label ZickZack, there was some amazement. Especially when the enclosed CDs were listened to from a Western perspective. Part of this weird Kassettentäter-Ost potpourri of swirling post-punk variety, which Bert Papenfuß, Bo Kondren, Bernd Jestram and Ronald Lippok compiled with well-founded interpretive…
Softcover, English, 180 pages, A Slightly Curving Place asks what it means to listen to the past and its absence which remains. It responds to the practice of acoustic archaeologist Umashankar Manthravadi, whose life and work are a history of sound and technology through the second half of the twentieth century. As a self-taught acoustic archaeologist, he has been building ambisonic microphones since the 1990s to measure the acoustic properties of premodern performance spaces. Comprising a range…
Sigillum S, have been covering unknown territories among extreme electronics, fringe acoustics and occultist noise since 1985.The result has been an endless series of mutations, where, from the droning ritualism and ethnic explorations of the late ‘80s through the surreal science fiction soundtracks of the ‘90s, they have arrived at the super deep complexity of the new millennium.
*In process of stocking* The sole album by US Psychedelic Folk Rock unit was released in 1968 on Mainstream, the label ran by famous jazz producer Bob Shad. After launching a young Janis Joplin with the Big Brother And The Holding Company, he tried to repeat his commercial triumph with The Growing Concern. However, the band was a different proposition altogether with its emphasis on beautiful vocal harmonies and fantastic guitar and organ work. Consequently, Shad only allowed the group into the …
*2022 repress* O Bidú: Silêncio no Brooklin is the fifth studio album by Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist Jorge Ben. It was recorded with Brazilian rock band The Fevers as Ben's backing musicians and released in 1967 by Artistas Unidos, a small-market record label based in São Paulo.
The album was recorded while Ben was living in Brooklin, a neighborhood of São Paulo with Erasmo Carlos. Its title is a reference to a car that Ben owned at the time and the subtitle is a joke on a neighbor…
Emak Bakia – a long out of print masterpieces from 1994. Even in the huge Bryn Jones' discography Emak Bakia really stands out of albums from the period due to its rather unique (house-music related) sound and short, by the standards of Bryn Jones, tracks. Like a crossmix between Psychic TV (circa Towards Thee Infinite Beat) and Muslimgauze's trademark percussion and eastern vibes. Re-mastered and with new stunning artwork.
*2022 stock* Experimental improvisation from three masterful players --Joe McPhee on soprano sax, Sylvain Guerineau on tenor saxophone, and Jean-Marc Foussat on synthesizer and voice--recording in France in 2010 for two extended works of concentrated and diverse dialog.

Tip! How to develop different improvisation strategies without falling into the obvious drone? How can you simply improvise freely with 26 people…
This is one of the most anticipated as well as unexpected compilations from the global depths of 60s and 70s rock'n'roll: The Persian scene. Let alone coming across with a representative compilation, even solid evidences of such a scene has not been seen until now and has been largely suspected, maybe save for a select few of eager garage and psychedelic record collectors and enthusiasts of worldwide rock, who have been trying to hunt such sounds on the internet and private collectors' circles, …
"A true music lover typically has dreams that their favorite musicians, who do not normally work one with another, will meet and perform together. I had a dream many years ago that the two Giants of contemporary improvised music, Joëlle Léandre and Barry Guy play a double bass duo together. And my dream became true at the 2017 Ad Libitum in Warsaw in Festival, and was released by Fundacja Słuchaj! on a phenomenal 3 CDs box “Blue Horizon ● Barry Guy@70”. Here is another dream realized by Fundacja…
*2022 stock. In process of stocking* With decades of history releasing music on the cutting edge, Celestial Harmonies founder, Eckart Rahn, had to sort through hours of historically significant material for Musique Mécanique, a double CD retrospective of influential electronic compositions. His latest music selection and sequence does not begin to cover the wealth of consequential material his labels have presented over the years. However, this collection does offer a worthy overview of the genr…
Album recorded, mixed and mastered in the author's own 'modest but neat studio'. This meant it took three years. A tracklist of great contemporary jazz from legendary Australian guitarist Errol H. Tout. Tout's music is intended to be 'a contribution to the well-being of the world'. He does not fit the term 'avant-garde' or 'confrontational', but would hope for the appropriateness of the term 'innovative'. Along with 'ambient' and 'atmosphere'.
*In process of stocking* Arnold Mathes is a self-taught synthesist from Brooklyn-USA whose work was once characterized by Music Technology as "ambient music for experimental synth freaks." He ranks among the most prolific of the decade, self-releasing over 35 cassettes in the '80s, and "Mathes 1986-89" is a collection of best tracks taken from them.

*Gimmix cover. Exact reproduction (!) of original cover sleeve with 4 sided cover sided insert sheet* The record company came up with the idea to have the second album recorded in the Apple Studios In London, instead of in a crummy German studio. At the beginning of April 1972 Eulenspygel went to London by train with their string instruments to start the recordings. lntercord had booked the band for only five days in the studio: for the German and English (TRASH on Long Hair LHC 277) versions of…

Raising Earthly Spirits is dark electro-tribal minimalism from Robin Storey (aka Rapoon). He builds organic atmospheres from low drones. The music is beatless, but there is a definite rhythm. Storey's drones create the rhythm and set the pace. Experimental sounds create auras of intrigue and mystery. The sound design is intricate and detached; the dark soundscapes are sinister with overtones of an evil existence. This is not a disc for listening alone in the dark.
