LP box, limited edition. Seven years of work gathered in one place, from 2000 to 2007: psychedelic drone, electroacoustic experiment, minimal music and pieces that belong to the deep listening tradition rather than to composition as such.
Ilya Monosov is part of the Frogpeak artist collective, one half of the noise group The Shining Path and one half of the improvising duo Monosov/Swirnoff. The list of people he has worked with says a good deal about where he sits: Bob Cobbing, Charles Curtis, Duane Pitre, Larry Polansky, and Marc Schulz in Ben Patterson's installation for the fortieth anniversary of Fluxus.
The reference points the label offers are Joe Jones, Takehisa Kosugi, John Cage and Terry Riley, which places it in the Fluxus end of this music: instruments treated as objects, processes left to run, and a tolerance for the results being rougher than a studio would allow.
Limited and numbered boxset edition of 50 copies, including cdr, Booklet, artworks, photos, insert and postcard.
