The album simultaneously satirizes pop music's increasing brevity and advertising's psychological manipulation while creating genuinely catchy and memorable musical fragments. Songs reference and parody styles ranging from rock to lounge to new wave, all filtered through The Residents' distinctive processing and surreal sensibility. The concept is far more than mere gimmick - these perfectly crafted minute-long pieces demonstrate The Residents' considerable compositional skill and pop sensibility. A perfect encapsulation of their approach: deadly serious artistic vision disguised as absurdist joke, or vice versa.
