In 1979, Cinevox released an LP containing the soundtrack of "Il giocattolo" , composed by Ennio Morricone for Giuliano Montaldo's film of the same name. For years, the original masters of the recording session were thought to be lost. It was only in 2007 that they were rediscovered in perfect condition. This is the reason why Cinevox decided to make this new Cd edition. The original master allowed to correct some small imperfections contained in the LP. As a bonus track, five previously unreleased tracks (12-16): the synth version of "Una gita mancata", an alternative version without music box for "Telefonata minacciosa", "Un uomo Semplice", a different version of "Una tenera moglie" and a new theme for guitar and whistle.
