*2025 stock. 50 copies limited edition* Having recently joined the attenuation circuit roster, rsn, a sound-aesthetic project in the field of tension between drone and ambient, offers another collaborative album. Although rsn is basically the solo project of Thomas Rosen, collaboration is crucial for his work, so here he joins forces with Philipp Maike aka Nagen.

Nagen can be deciphered as a German word that means 'gnawing', and at times the microtonal drones in this improvised recording have just this character. But the full-on pulsing of audible beatings, pitch-shifted tones rubbing against each other, does also give way to more quiet, often near-silent moments in which the sounds that can actually be heard take on the darkly foreboding character of distant machines – or wild animals? The music of rsn and Nagen opens up a liminal space for the imagination in which the certainties of identification dissolve.
