Temporary special price. The 1993 Mute/Grey Area CD of Throbbing Gristle live in 1979 and 1980, their last period, from Sheffield, Berlin, London and Manchester.

Temporary special price. The last of the four live volumes compiled in 1993 for The Grey Area of Mute from the Throbbing Gristle tape archive, with Brian Lustmord as archive researcher and track selection consultant and Chris Carter mixing and remastering the recordings at Studio 47. It covers the group's final period, from The Factory in Manchester on 18 May 1979 to Rafters in Manchester on 4 December 1980, a few months before Throbbing Gristle declared their mission terminated in 1981.

Most of the disc comes from Sheffield University on 10 June 1980: Introduction, Punished, Heathen Earth, Tortured Smiles and We Said No. The SO36 club in Berlin, on 7 November 1980, gives An Old Man Smiled and Trained Condition Of Obedience, Rafters gives Auschwitz and Devil's Gateway, and Goldsmiths College in London, on 13 March 1980, gives Russ. The Factory set contributes Five Knuckle Shuffle and a short Wall Of Sound, and the disc closes with another Wall Of Sound recorded at Oundle Public School near Peterborough on 16 March 1980.

The group is Genesis P-Orridge on vocals, bass and violin, Cosey Fanni Tutti on lead guitar, effects and cornet, Chris Carter on synthesizers, electronic rhythms and tapes, and Peter Christopherson on tapes, machines, vocals and cornet. As the sleeve points out, all clicks and extraneous noise derive from the original recordings.

The Grey Area CD (TGCD 13), later European pressing without the transparent overlay sheet of the first edition, in a standard jewel case with a two-page insert.
