*2025 stock* Faust is a group of artists who shared intense musical experiences with each other between 1971 and 1974. Supported by producer Uwe Nettelbeck and sound engineer Kurt Graupner, they produced a wealth of recordings in a studio in Wümme that was set up especially for them. This was followed by two compact album productions, recorded at Manor (21–31 March 1973) and Musicland Studios (6–12 May 1974). This album presents a selection of recordings from this period that document their creative versatility and explosive dynamism. Some tracks are extremely raw and experimental, others are polished productions.
A collection of unreleased snapshots that offer a wonderful insight into the world of Faust. This volume contains recordings that have already been released on other compilations such as ‘71 Minutes’ and ‘BBC Sessions+’. While reviewing the material for this compilation, some titles were changed, e.g. ‘Ma Trompette (Alternative Version)’ was previously released as ‘Party 10’, ‘Zwölf Meter unter der Oberfläche’ became ‘(360)’ and ‘Geister, die wir riefen’ was ‘The Lurcher’.
