The work's shimmering string textures and bell-like percussion create an immersive meditation on what the composer described as "chronomorphology" - the shaping of musical time as plastic material. Its companion piece À Travers Le Temps (1983) expands this temporal exploration through spatialized instrumental groups that seem to occupy different time dimensions simultaneously.

Created during Romania's isolated communist period, these works demonstrate how Nemescu developed his spectral language independently from Western contemporaries while sharing their fascination with sound's inner life.
