*50 copies limited edition* "Tony Conrad has always been a constant inspiration for both Glen and myself and one of the main reasons we started making drone music in the first place. When Paul Williams contacted me last year about the relaunch of Table Of The Elements, I proposed a screening of the Tony Conrad documentary followed by a performance of our duo Mertens & Steenkiste. As a filmmaker myself, I wondered if it would be possible for us to score one of Tony’s films, more specifically his 1966 legendary film The Flicker.

Glen and I did a setup with pythagorean harp and taishogoto, our most recent setup, screened the film and constructed a score that tried to honour Tony Conrad’s music while staying true to our own. This release consists of that score with an alternate version added for good measure. The Flicker still remains one of Tony’s most enigmatic films and with this music we hope to contribute to his legacy." - Jef Mertens
