Jonny Trunk more or less invented library music as a collecting field in Britain, first with his Trunk Records reissues and then with this book, a catalogue of the sleeves: KPM's green and blue boards, De Wolfe's abstractions, the Italian labels with their Op Art and their nudes, page after page of records that were never sold in shops and were designed by people who knew nobody would see them. The revised edition roughly doubles the first, adds the continental labels in depth and includes a directory of who did what under which pseudonym.
It is a design book first and a discography second, and it works as both; anyone buying from Part IV of this sale will find half the records here in colour. Fuel hardback, as new.
