Mlehst

"The curtains are drawn back, the sheets are pulled up over your face, the tape is fizzing out - you hear a familiar voice, a beeping, a chirping, a long hallway voice of lights - damn, feels like a breeze over marble headstones and you recognize what felt so familiar… the bark of the birch tree looks exactly like your bedroom back home. black and white and falling apart. mlehst mastery of soul-fuckery with surrealist outcomes! the difficulty… no …. the ease."

“Ultimatum And Incitement” is a cassette of intensely detailed noise and broken electronics that captures Mlehst at a particularly obsessive, late–night state of mind. Across its two sides, sheets of corroded tape hiss, malfunctioning signals and submerged tones fold into each other like half-remembered hospital alarms, never settling into comfort yet avoiding pure chaos. The results feel both intimate and invasive, as if the listener were eavesdropping on a private ritual where decay, memory and bodily anxiety are slowly teased out through sound.

Issued by Hospital Productions, the tape leans into the label’s tradition of stark, psychologically charged artwork and raw sonics, presenting Mlehst not as a nostalgia act but as a contemporary force still pushing classic UK noise into unnervingly vivid territories. This is less a collection of tracks than a single extended episode of pressure and release, ideal for those who want their noise to feel like a clinical hallucination rather than a wall of undifferentiated distortion.
