*2026 stock. 100 copies limited edition* Experimental label hearsay unveils umlautmachine, a captivating new tape from renowned sound poet and conceptual artist Chistian Bök. Available now via Bandcamp, this limited-edition release pushes the boundaries of phonetics, noise, and textual abstraction, transforming the written word into an auditory machine of umlauts, glitches, and rhythmic eruptions.

Chistian Bök, celebrated for his genre-defying works like the bestselling Eunoia – a lipogrammatic masterpiece constrained to single vowels – delivers umlautmachine as a raw, cassette-exclusive experiment. Across its sides, Bök manipulates vocal loops, synthetic distortions, and modified speech synthesis to evoke the mechanical poetry of language under duress. Tracks pulse with the alien hum of accented syllables, evoking dadaist collages and futuristic linguistics, perfect for fans of concrete poetry, harsh noise, and avant-garde electronica.

"Language is a machine we can hack," says Bök. "Umlautmachine rewires it for the tape deck." hearsay, the Leiria-based imprint known for unearthing bold sonic outliers (from umlautmachine's own catalog to acts like se re and babas), presents this as a strictly limited run on high-bias chrome cassette, complete with riso-printed j-card artwork that nods to bök's visual wordplay.
