Ariel Kalma

Ariel Kalma, born in Paris in 1947, is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist and one of the quiet pioneers of ambient and drone music. He took up the recorder as a boy and the saxophone as a teenager, studied electronics and computing alongside music, and in the 1970s worked in the electronic studios of the ORTF and travelled widely, absorbing sounds from India in particular.
