Michael Vorfeld

Michael Vorfeld is a Berlin-based percussionist and visual artist working in improvised and experimental music. He plays percussion, bowed cymbals and string instruments of his own design, and makes electroacoustic pieces and works that combine light and sound. He is best known for Glühlampenmusik (Light Bulb Music), a performance in which incandescent bulbs and their switching devices become the sound source. Vorfeld studied in Cologne and Kassel, graduating in visual communication.
