Umor Rex saddle up a session of dusty modular kosmische from Phantom Horse, paying homage to the original templates of Cluster/Harmonia and the rhythmelodic patterning of Moondog in five horizon-scanning variations. Best checked for the alien tone of Always Too Late (Reprise) or the wickedly curdled, keening synth discord of Skeptical Island, and its giddy resolution. “Packed in their distinct homelike, warm sound, Phantom Horse effortlessly follow their path to find a melancholic playfulne…
Stelzer/Murray is the duo of Brendan Murray and Howard Stelzer, two stalwarts of the Boston noise / experimental scene over the past two decades. Both artists have long been friends and both artists have never shied away from collaborating with avant-garde musicians hither and yon. Yet, this marks their first collaborative work together. Better late than never, we say. Stelzer brings to the table an array of mangled and partially demagnetized tape; and Murray brings his knack for compacted…

Vice Versa formed in late 1977 / early 1978 by Stephen Singleton with Mark White and David Sydenham as members and can be considered as one of the "Big Four" late 70's minimalistic electronic/synth-based bands from Sheffield. Together with the other three big Sheffield-Protagonists of electronic music; Cabaret Voltaire, Clock DVA and The Future / Human League they heavily influenced and changed the guitar-dominated British Pop Music Culture in the late 70's to early 80's, especially when in late…
During 1979 and 1981 and after running punk-orientated Bands with his Brother Derek for 3 years (Those Nervous Surgeaons, Nervous Surgeons & Half Nervous), Adrian recorded about 6 tapes with almost 6 hours of wonderful atmospheric and powerful minimal/synth-music that no listener can escape from without experiencing wonderful feelings and emotions. This is the first in a series of various compilations to come with a focus on the 80’s japanese Minimal/Synth/Wave and electronica. While Japan is very known for the Japanese Noise (almost as Germany is known for NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle) or 70’s Kraut (Progressive).Electronic Music this aspect of the 80’s Japanese Music Culture still seems to be less explored and exposed to the interested listeners. In the early 80’s you had several outstanding labels such as Vanity releasing great artist…

Originally developed as a film score, Takt Der Arbeit is inspired by a handful of industrial and instructional films from the early 1960s until the early 1990s that portray different forms of work. Felix Kubin translates these historic documents into a musical poem of conceptual depth. Takt Der Arbeit - "the beat of work" - is not only serving as a title but also as constructive element in this endeavor. Being hunted down by the ever-accelerated pulse of our reality is an omnipresent issue i…

On her latest release, Chra, aka Christina Nemec, sketches out a psycho-geographical map that guides you to the border of the internal and external world -- On A Fateful Morning lets you enter a sphere where the imaginary and the subliminal cross. Evoking abstract images that transcend reality, Chra installs an autarchic time-and-space continuum of vague, nocturnal beauty. Pastose bass drones, airy ambient synths and processed audio samples form a hypnotic stream that lets you enter an alter…

"Tesla's Dream" includes electromagnetic field recordings from tramways, analog machines, light systems, power stations, airports, banks, security systems, advertising, and the sounds of discharges and activities of Tesl…
Home Age is the first proper Eleh full-length since 2012's Homage To The Pointed Waveforms. These three new pieces seek to expose the inherent musicality of pure electrical currents via high resolution Serge STS synthesizers. Like early Eleh work, Home Age is inward looking, domestic, and deliberate, but also slowly emotional and revealing as if peering blurry-eyed through a window. Melody, harmony, and counterpoint are suggested but not revealed. Packaged in a deluxe gold-on-black, heavy…

Double LP version. Led by Nigel Ayers, Nocturnal Emissions was one of the first bands to use tape cutting, avant-garde art, and underground video works to create a stage experience that was cultivated by like-minded artists like Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. The band moved on to using samplers and electronic noise in their early '80s work, creating a twisted funk sound that would go on to influence everyone from Foetus to Negativland. They still utilized their former tricks, uppi…
