The Temple
Brand new full full length from renowned Swedish noise rock outfit the Skull Defekts. The Skull Defekts is a band from Sweden in the very north of Europe. Their intense, monotonous, rhythmic and sexual out-rock has, since their start in early 2005, been spreading energies of various kinds to welcoming audiences and listeners. The DFX is also exploring worlds of noise, the drone and psychedelic electronics on waves. The Temple is the follow up to last years Blood Spirits & Drums Are Singing but i…
Songs From Before
Provides a further refined, perhaps even subtler take on Max's narrative landscape, beautifully recorded & cinematic in scope. Max's orchestrations have also graced "In The Møde" by drum'n'bass pioneer Roni Size. He also co-founded the immensely successful contemporary classical ensemble Piano Circus. More recently he produced & co-arranged the long-awaited second album by 60's legend Vashti Bunyan.
24 Postcards In Full Colour
With his fourth album, Berlin-based Max Richter further cements his status as one of the leading lights of modern composition. 24 Postcards In Full Colour is a dazzling conceptual exercise of great beauty and emotional resonance. Each of the album's 24 tracks is a classically-composed ringtone, an evocative miniature whose theme, though fully developed, hints at a larger piece; thus Richter explores the fugitive nature of memory through reprises and repetition throughout this intriguing album. W…
Samantha (My Wack Panther)
Menstruation Sisters hail from Sydney, Australia. Basically a duo comprised of wildboy poet ululationist and guitar strangler Nick Kamiussis (aka Rizili aka Riz) and OZ wonderkid Oren Ambarchi (Sunn 0))), Burial Chamber, Grave Temple, John Zorn etc etc), and sometimes aided by Brendan Walls and others. Their first LP, Ma, was in an edition of 100 copies, all of which had razor blades, balloons and hypodermic needles applied to one side. As an objet d'art it became a highly desirable item for noi…
Erotic Yorkshire

YMCA
YMCA is guitarist Alan Licht's first solo release since 2003's A New York Minute double CD (on XI), and his first solo vinyl outing since 1994's long out-of-print Sink The Aging Process (on Siltbreeze). Largely recorded at a 2004 concert at a Cambridge Massachusetts YMCA by Keith Fullerton Whitman, YMCA documents Licht's solo guitar set of the time -- a three-part structured improvisation that moves from mournful, layered sustained tones that sound more like a reed organ than a guitar, to a gent…
Four Aims
The Four Aims is the much-anticipated second full-length by the long-running duo of Mick Flower (Vibracathedral Orchestra, Sunroof, Michael Flower Band) and Chris Corsano (Flaherty/Corsano, Jandek, Bjork, Sunburned). In the couple years since their debut, The Radiant Mirror (Textile), the two have toured and recorded frequently, expanding their range to include a mind-boggling array of free sound. "I, Brute Force" kicks off the record with their signature-- one of the most original in rock/free/…
Lord Krishna Von Goloka
In 1973, Rolf Ulrich Kaiser's visionary powers acted as a catalyst for an authentic combination of acid, music and spirituality: the mystical LSD-fueled musical project Lord Krishna Von Goloka. For this adventure into Indian and Oriental mythologies and legends, Kaiser asked esoteric Swiss artist (he was a friend of Giger's), poet, specialist on Alpine folklore, and friend of Timothy Leary, Sergius Golowin, to join a group of musicians including Klaus Schulze and members of Wallenstein and Witth…
Through The Magnifying Glass Of Tomorrow
Clandestine auteurs the Opalio Brothers (aka My Cat Is An Alien) have deftly sprinkled our solar system with their beautifully fragile, arcane soundscape/tracks via their own Opax label, as well as multimedia collaborations with vanguards such as Sonic Youth, Christian Marclay, Keiji Haino, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Text Of Light, Jim O'Rourke, Mats Gustafsson, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Christina Carter Of Charalambides, Jackie- O Motherfucker & Black Magic Disco --- and even have been commiss…
Filmworks XXIII: El General
Eleven cues recorded for a striking documentary focusing on the life of controversial Mexican dictator Plutarco Elias Calles who was called everything from a nun-burner to the father of modern Mexico. Beautiful and dramatic, the music is scored for guitar, marimba, accordion/piano and bass and subtly draws upon Mexican, Spanish, minimalist and soundtrack traditions. Zorn's fifth film score in as many months is a pure delight. Moody and exotic music for a creative and revealing film dealing with …

East West + Live Tracks
East/West was Richard's fourth solo album, which was originally released in 1980. This album has Richard embracing the new, computer-driven electronic technology, while still using some of his old gear and is one of Richard's personal favorites of his '70s and '80s work.
Klimax Axis
Long deleted, Limited to 400 numbered copies edition. "here we started shifting our early drones and layers into concentrated outbursts of maniac consistency, reaching out for initiatory spasms of disjointed rhythms and super saturated vocals. Originally released in late 80s as tape only (between the first 2 LPs)"
Running on autokinetic
classic Ashtray Navigations, two hallucino-kinetic tracks each side
Live at the Hint House
Live at the Hint House might be considered a field rec. in as much as it is a recording of an ambience or soundscape. Made on my first ever trip to mainland America to play music this is the 2nd set of that evening, the 1st set had been an acoustic one of songs and slide guitar. At the start of the 2nd set i quickly realised that my guitar was not working and rather than stop and attempt to find out what was wrong i decided to just continue and improvise with what was at hand on the table …
