*300 copies limited edition* The musical material on „Lichthöfe“ is based on modular recordings by Thorsten Soltau. Conceptually these recordings deal with the spaciality of sound and the stereo field, while still maintaining an improvisational character. Asmus Tietchens has treated the material to intensive deformations, ranging from reductionist clusters to brittle textures. In each treatment a fragment of the original material remains audible.

Non Toxique Lost are one of the most important and equally most underrated bands from Berlin's 1980s Industrlal scene. Sprung aus den Wolken, Einstürzende Neubauten, Die Tödliche Doris and also Non Toxique Lost were the core of the movement in the divided city. In the old days, most of their albums came out on cassette only, later they were collected onto vinyls and CDs. After the tragic loss of long-time member Steffen Schütze in 2017, NTL are continuing with their unique vision of music. This …
A landmark in avant-garde jazz returns: the definitive, remastered edition of Alan Silva’s 1969 Paris session for BYG’s Actuel series. Leading his 11-piece Celestial Communication Orchestra — with titans like Anthony Braxton, Archie Shepp, and Grachan Moncur III — Silva channels the raw, boundary-pushing energy of the New York free jazz explosion. Deluxe packaging, restored artwork, and new liner notes by Kevin Le Gendre complete this long-sought treasure. Originally released in 1969, this explo…
The pioneering electronic sounds of Daphne Oram reimagined by Taahliah, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Marta Salogni, Arushi Jain and others using tapes from Oram's archive. To mark the centenary of overlooked electronic pioneer Daphne Oram, Nonclassical - together with Oram Trust and Oram Awards - have commissioned new music by a set of contemporary visionary minority-gender electronic artists celebrating the next generation of trailblazers.
This group of artists span early-career to high-profile DJs and m…
*200 copies limited edition* Recital is pleased to announce The Holy Restaurant, the new full-length album by Derek Baron, and their first solo LP since Curtain (Recital, 2020). The album is built from years of miniature transcriptions of improvisations, functioning in many ways as a sister to Curtain. Half-thoughts and mistakes are revisited, gilded, and illuminated. The floorboards of the album are laid with piano, organ, string pads, while serrated accruements (distortions, flourishes, and re…
*300 copies limited edition* Dialog, music, and elaborate sound design fold into a narrative fantasy about self-cannibalization and transformation. Written and recorded over five years, this is McCann’s first album since 2019’s Puck (Recital) and his first opera. The opera is voiced by composer Martin Bresnick, artist Nour Mobarak, musician Max Eilbacher [Horse Lords], and voice actors David George and Krystel Abimeri. McCann performed and recorded most of the music himself, meticulously editing…
"If I’m not mistaken, Ben Frost and I first talked about the ideas of what would become Steelwound sometime in mid 2002. In the early 00s, Ben had been working on cut-up electronics, spilling over with floating rhythms, humming string samples and piano splices. It was a sound realised in part through the subversion of fruity loops and also owes a debt to Ableton Live which arrived in late 2001. His works to that point, gently saturated and bristling with a fizzy distortion at times, hinted at an…
"I first owned a fender rhodes electric piano in the late 1970s. It was a Mark 1 model (wooden key action). I had a band with my younger brother and my best friend from school and this was my ‘portable’ gigging instrument that weighed ‘a ton,’ and only just fitted in our small car. (I eventually got smart and left the 15 kg lid at home.) I had one effects pedal, a Boss chorus. Sadly—due to the rise of synthesisers and electronic keyboard instruments—I sold this lovely instrument in the late 1980…
2007 release ** Cardboard sleeve. Probably one of the frenziest & craziest Sudden Infant' recordings. Recorded live at the Gluerooms, London, on may the 20th, 2004, stands for me as one of joke lanz most intense and unique sudden infant recordings I came across to this day besides his already classic ones! sharing this disc w-his recent "partner in crime' Bill Kouligas (those who caught up w-the recent dec 06, uk tour know what am talking about), also member of the bizarre greek duo of family ba…
Tip! *2025 stock. 300 copies limited edition* "When I was in Paris 2013 - 2015, the second apartment in which I stayed was on Rue Adolphe Mille, which more or less ran along the western border of the Parc de la Villette in the 19th Arrondissement. On the opposite side of the park, the new Philharmonie de Paris, designed by Jean Nouvel, was nearing its long-delayed completion. Eric La Casa, a master of in situ field recording/performance, lived just up the street as well and, in 2013, ventured in…
Two sides, each lasting 8 minutes and 50 seconds. A clash that resonates in friction, united by the materiality of vinyl - if only for a time. Or at best, a rapprochement, like in cinema. On side A, a MIDI composition by Xavier Robel for synthesized piano, based on La Monte Young's tuning system for The Well-Tuned Piano. Mouse clicks, boxing gloves, vibrancy, and mischief. On side B, a positively insistent On-U Sound-flavored rhythmic investigation, produced by Androo in response to Xavier Robel…
This is the story of a Telegram audio message suddenly poured and cast into the materiality of a vinyl record. Is it a correspondence archive? Above all, it's a field recording, a moment bit torn from everydayness, where Androo found some fresh air in a church in Sardinia and started playing the organ. Next we're in Naples, and Androo is playing a tiny instrument as we can hear sporadically the street hum in the background. This was all recorded on an already too old iPhone during the summer of…
That Wolf At The Door is a collaborative 2 CD between Henry Kaiser (Califonia, USA; guitar) and P.ST (Prague, Czechia; electronics). The first CD That Wolf At The Door is a solo baritone guitar disc that pays a heartfelt tribute to the late science fiction author Gene Wolfe (May 7, 1931 - April 14, 2019). The album is a testament to the decades-long friendship and mutual appreciation between Wolfe and Kaiser, two creative minds who shared a passion for pushing the boundaries of their respective …
*2025 stock. 300 copies limited edition* At the height of the forest folk boom in 2002, the yearning for more manna for the ears led a group of aficionados to invent a programmable forest folk generator software that would then relentlessly spit out the magic sound. Later, the tapes produced by the software went missing for two decades until rediscovered by J. Lehtisalo, who was one of the concept creators and programmers along with S. Pekkola and V. Puhakka.
Among the missing tapes was Circle’s…
*2025 stock. 300 copies limited edition* Bursting with high energy and unpredictability, "Electric Catapult" showcases Lehtisalo's evolution as a solo artist, moving away from his previous electronic maximalism into a realm of impressionistic soundscapes. The album's frenetic, all-over-the-place pace and eclectic composition reflect Lehtisalo's willingness to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories. Drawing inspiration and style from early 00's New York and New Zealand improv groups li…
*2025 stock. 300 copies limited edition* Salo Ra II is a new duo of Topias Tiheäsalo and Jussi Lehtisalo. Taking inspiration from the old vacuum tube televisions and the decayed industrial landscape of the city of Salo, the duo’s debut LP Viptronic creates a beautiful and an intuititive balance of seemingly incongruous sounds: overdriven zither-noise and unearthly electronic basso continuo blend touchingly with the resonances of electric guitar’s open tunings. Dedicated to whoever who has ever b…
*2025 stock. 300 copies limited edition* Two living legends of Finnish DIY music scene join forces on this magically wonderful piece of experimental otherness. Jukka Nousiainen (Räjäyttäjät, Vaisu Luksus, Rambling Boys, Jukka ja Jytämimmit etc.) and Jussi Lehtisalo (Circle, Susi-Unto, Steel Mammoth, Salo Ra II etc.) improvise with intense intent and inventiveness. Sounds travel through free noise space of cosmic hiss and dark matter crackle but also encounter multicolored starlight nebulas of bl…
*300 copies limited edition* "A meeting of minds across continents, 1972 unites two underground visionaries: Anla Courtis, the Argentine experimentalist known for his boundary-pushing work with Reynols, and Jussi Lehtisalo, the Finnish avant-rock architect behind Circle, Pharaoh Overlord, and Ektro Records. Their collaboration unfolds as an abstract, free-flowing dialogue — an exercise in sonic alchemy where the hypnotic collides with the microtonal. Born in Buenos Aires, Courtis has spent decad…
