*22 copies limited edition* To paraphrase Éliane Radigue's famous double 7" record, the two discs you hold in your hands are designed to be listened to either separately or simultaneously, synchronously or asynchronously. Similarly, the sides of these two discs can be played at any speed and in either direction. It is also permissible to scratch the record, block the arm to form a loop, intervene freely... The only limit is that set by your turntable.
For those who enjoy listening to music differently depending on the season, place, or time of day; who relive memories and sensations that are easy to pinpoint on the map of the past with each listen; will you share in the pleasure of active listening, where you do nothing but listen? Nothing except play along to the music on one instrument or another, with the record becoming a makeshift backing band. The record then becomes an instrument, and the listener becomes a musician. And the quality of the performance doesn't matter, since the listener is also their own audience.
Thank you to Joachim Montessuis for accepting our invitation to collaborate on creating this disc, this disc instrument. Like children improvising as DJs on their parents' turntables, like ourselves in other times when we compiled our cassettes with gems gleaned here and there interspersed with radio and movie clips, let's shamelessly seize the opportunity to play these records. Leaving it to the bespectacled rentiers to point out all the flaws.
Twenty-two double copies of this record were pressed, each side featuring a major arcana card from Oswald Wirth's tarot deck, associated with 22 Sanskrit bijas (seed mantras). May these archetypes protect you for a long time, at least until the next solstice.
22 copies have been made. Lathe-cut onto 2 separate 1-sided black vinyl 7” records, both records having labels only on the recorded side. The labels’ names (Bija) are handwritten in red. The discs can be played at any speed and in any way, both backwards or onwards. On the reverse blank sides of each record is an original drawing different from one record to the other. There is a numbered one-sided insert with french text about the disc. The two records and the insert are housed into a handmade sleeve in different colors.
