By the 35th volume Fausto Papetti had outlived most of his imitators and Durium had adjusted the formula: a standard as title track, a slightly more jazz-adjacent programme, the model still present but somewhat less prominent. My One and Only Love is played straight and slow, with a tone that had darkened over the decades into something closer to the ballad tenors he had always been compared to.
Late Papetti is a study in restraint by a musician who had made a career of never needing to show off. Durium, early eighties Italian pressing.
