To mark the centenary of composer Piero Umiliani, born in Florence in 1926, Cinevox Record is pleased to reissue his fabulous score for the 1970 film 5 Dolls for the August Moon, directed by Mario Bava, on a double CD. To produce this double CD, we were able to access the original mono and stereo sessions once again, which allowed us to discover previously unreleased material. CD1 features the Cinevox MDF 33/33 album released in 1970, with fourteen mono tracks selected by Maestro Umiliani himself, who had edited some of the tracks to shorten their duration for recording purposes. CD2 features twenty-three mono tracks and five stereo tracks (including, for the first time, the film versions with their original durations), for a total of 97:08.

For those who adore Piero Umiliani, no introduction is needed, as the iconic music of the Florentine maestro—with its psychedelic Beat colors and Afro-Cuban rhythms, featuring the fantastic choir of Alessandroni’s Cantori Moderni—is in perfect harmony with the images of Mario Bava’s cult movie. This new double-CD reissue will be a must-have for every international fan of Mario Bava’s Horror/Giallo films and the great Maestro Piero Umiliani.
